Summary

The Black Edition Electric Scooter draws attention from the electric scooter community primarily for its aggressive power output and all-black aesthetic. Reddit users who own or discuss it tend to be enthusiasts looking for high-performance machines rather than casual commuters. The scooter is praised for its raw speed and range, but the weight and bulk make it a poor fit for anyone who needs to lift or carry it frequently. Overall sentiment leans positive among performance riders, with reservations around practicality and legality in certain regions.

Pros

  • Exceptional top speed reported by owners, with real-world figures reaching 60+ mph making it one of the fastest production scooters discussed in the community
  • Impressive range at moderate speeds — owners report around 30 miles at 25-30 mph average, which is strong for a high-power scooter
  • The all-black colorway is consistently praised for looking sleek and understated compared to flashier competitors with neon accents or bright colors
  • Sinewave controllers deliver smooth, progressive acceleration that riders describe as confidence-inspiring even at high speeds
  • The seated riding option reduces fatigue on long rides and improves aerodynamics at speed, a feature appreciated by taller or heavier riders
  • Build quality appears solid enough to survive high-speed crashes according to owner reports, suggesting a robust frame construction

Cons

  • Weight is a major drawback — the scooter weighs approximately 48-50 kg, making it nearly impossible to carry and difficult to transport in a car without a dedicated rack
  • Legality is a constant concern: riders in the UK, EU, and many US states cannot legally ride this on public roads due to its power output far exceeding local limits
  • The high power and speed make it unsuitable for beginners — community consensus is that this is strictly an experienced-rider machine
  • At this price and weight class, buyers are also considering dedicated electric motorcycles which offer similar performance with better legal standing and serviceability
  • Limited availability and the 'limited edition' label create uncertainty around long-term parts supply and after-sales support
  • Bolt and fastener maintenance becomes a real concern at high power levels, with community members noting that frame vibration at speed requires regular hardware checks

61 mph on a scooter: riders share what it actually feels like

Owners who've pushed the Black Edition to its limits describe the acceleration as hitting 0-30 in 3-4 seconds, with the top end feeling stable enough to hold — though the weight means any mistake at speed carries serious consequences.

50kg and nowhere to park it: the Black Edition's real-world problem

Reddit's practical riders keep coming back to the same issue: this scooter is fast but immovable in any situation that requires lifting, storing, or transporting it. It works as a dedicated point-A-to-point-B machine, not a carry-on commuter.

The all-black look is doing more work than you'd think

Multiple community threads show riders specifically seeking out black scooters to avoid attention — and the Black Edition's stealth aesthetic is one of the few in its power class that doesn't look like a motocross bike crossed with a gaming chair.

No way that thing weighs only 25kg. That would be only ~7kg heavier than the Ninebot G30. I'm guessing it's something around wolf warrior weight, +40kg. Just checked the specs on that thing, manufacturer claims around 50kg.

Every time I see a seat, my brain thinks 'mobility scooter'. Unfair but true.

I love the seat idea! It's nice to cruise on the road seated. More aero to!

I feel you man, I'm in the EU and if I want to ride legally, 250W 20kph is the limit. It's frankly pointless! Next scooter I buy, I'm just gonna go all-out.

I just can't get over the thickness of the deck. If that is all battery it must weigh around 150 Lbs.

Nice, but I have a feeling with that much power you'll be tightening bolts constantly and having to constantly check the integrity of the frame.

LunaCycle's 6500W Black edition is not just a 'tune', Luna & Talaria have a partnership and it's programmed out of the Talaria factory with this configuration.

Do you still have this scooter? If not how many miles did you get? Any major problems? Did you have to replace anything?

Don't use red threadlocker, any parts you use it on will stay well and truly stuck together till death does them part unless you apply a blowtorch to them, which is usually a bad idea around motors and batteries. For most purposes, blue is fine.

Love it. Works surprisingly well. But, it's universal so doesn't look so good on the side with the plates and bolts used for adjusting it. I'm gonna 3D print a piece to connect just the top of it to the arm, removing everything in the middle.

Flashy to me is bright colors, neon green coils (Mukuta 10), lights all over the deck. A Nami Klima to me is more understated and less flashy if that helps. Even the VSETT 10 Apex is reasonably non-flashy.

How fast you're going is what gets attention. Most people think gotrax style campus scooter when they think of e-scooters. So when they see someone going 40mph they're often seeing something new happening from their prospective.

Very cool, tho I love my VESCs and something like a Ubox 85/150 can do about 10Kw in a really small package. I love seeing scooter projects like this! Can the stock battery supply all that power or do you have a custom one? Interested to see how this continues, good luck :3

You want something compact and light that you can pick up, but also 10 inch wheels? That's kinda difficult, 10 in wheel scooters are both large and heavy.

This is a rebrand of a common scooter, but I like their all black treatment. The single sided hub looks very clean.

Hey bro, I'm looking to get a talaria and I've been seeing many people buying off of alibaba and Chinese vendors, just curious where you found your vendor and what are the risks involved…almost seems too good to be true

I was reading this and thinking, just get something fast enough you dont have to worry about them catching you. Seriously, what a total joke of a law, peak hypocrisy.

I think the whole scooter is 25kg 🤷‍♂️ pretty heavy but it feels really smooth when riding, also getting 30 miles range out of it going about 25-30mph average is really good

Black color is kinda bad for night rides, it should be more light reflective.
