Summary

The Dualtron Victor Luxury is a high-performance electric scooter that has built a loyal following among riders who want serious power in a relatively portable single-stem package. Reddit sentiment is generally positive, with multiple owners reporting 10,000–20,000+ km on their units with only routine maintenance like tires and brake pads. The scooter earns praise for its durability, build quality, and top speed potential, though it carries some known Minimotors baggage: a twitchy square-wave controller, a folding stem mechanism that requires regular tightening, and no IP water resistance rating. It sits at a crossroads between premium and outdated — a proven workhorse that newer competitors are beginning to outclass on technology and value.

Pros

  • Exceptional long-term durability — owners report 14,000–20,000 km with only tires and brake pads replaced, making it one of the more dependable scooters in its class
  • Top speed potential up to 87 km/h in climbing mode, with dual motors and a 60V/32A controller delivering strong real-world performance on hills
  • Relatively compact and portable for its power class — the single-stem design and manageable dimensions make it easier to transport than dual-stem alternatives like the Nami Burn-E
  • Premium LG battery cells (30Ah+) with a BMS that automatically activates eco mode to protect the pack during aggressive acceleration, extending battery lifespan
  • Highly customizable and serviceable — front/rear suspension can be swapped, deck height is adjustable, and aftermarket PMT tires, kickplates, and stem clamp upgrades are widely used by the community
  • Updated Luxury Plus models include the EY4 display, NUTT hydraulic brakes, and improved lighting over the base Victor, adding meaningful real-world upgrades

Cons

  • Square-wave motor controller produces a notoriously twitchy, on/off throttle feel that takes significant time to get used to — a persistent Dualtron criticism that competitors with sine-wave controllers have solved
  • Folding stem mechanism requires frequent tightening and is considered a weak point — wobble at speed is a common complaint, and many owners replace the clamp with solid bolts or a non-folding stem
  • No IP water resistance rating, which is a meaningful drawback compared to alternatives like the Spider Max (IPX5) in the same price range
  • Rubber cartridge suspension (not shock-based) is considered outdated by modern standards and provides a noticeably harsher ride than competitors using coilover or air suspension
  • Original tires are prone to flats and blowouts — most long-term owners switch to PMT tires relatively early, adding an unplanned cost of $150–300
  • Platform is largely unchanged since 2020 according to community consensus, putting it behind newer designs from brands like Boyueda and Teverun that offer better specs at competitive prices

20,000 km and Still Rolling: What Victor Owners Actually Experience

Multiple long-term Reddit owners have pushed their Victor Luxury units well past 10,000 km with nothing more than tires and brake pads. One user reported 14,000 km on their Luxury Plus, another over 20,000 km on a 2021 OG Victor. For a scooter in this price range, that reliability track record is hard to argue with.

Is the Victor Luxury Becoming Obsolete at Its Own Price Point?

Reddit's electric scooter community is increasingly divided on whether Dualtron's aging platform justifies the price. Critics point to the unchanged frame design since 2020, square-wave controllers, and rubber cartridge suspension — while defenders argue the Victor Luxury's proven battery longevity and serviceability still make it worth the premium over newer, untested alternatives.

The Folding Mechanism Nobody Talks About in Reviews

One of the most discussed owner pain points on Reddit isn't range or speed — it's the folding stem clamp. Users consistently report wobble requiring frequent tightening, and the community has developed a cottage industry of fixes: replacing clamps with standard bolts, buying solid non-folding stem upgrades, and avoiding lifting the scooter by its handlebars entirely. It's a known quirk that reviewers tend to underplay.

I do not understand why Dualtron hasn't come up with a throttle that isn't so damn twitchy. It's one of their biggest cons for me.

For your first question, you shouldn't rely on the battery percentage because when you accelerate there's something called 'sag' where the voltage drops sharply. With batteries like these, it's difficult to estimate the real percentage; it's better to rely on the voltage displayed. Your scooter can be charged up to 66.7v, but to guarantee a better lifespan, the official Dualtron chargers stop charging at 66.4v.

I have two victors, OG 2021, I put over 20 thousand kilometres on it. It has a new battery and all the maintenance items.

I really enjoy the Dualtron Victor Luxury, I've had it now for a couple of months (since the summer) and despite living in a very hilly area, It gets me to my destinations fast and with comfort. The only issues I can complain of is that the stem creaks a lot and needs to get constantly oiled/lubed and my battery seems to drain a bit fast.

I don't have any problems myself with the 'twitchy dualtron throttle' after adding a kickplate and lowering the acceleration down from max, just my 2 cents.

Definitely needs a foot rest to brace yourself against something in my opinion. Yeah the stock mud guard isn't the best, my backpack gets mud on it and my legs can get wet if I don't slow down for puddles. My stem clamps stopped being able to tighten up so I replaced them with just some nuts and bolts, they work really well and I don't have to tighten them up as often as the clamps.

Mine came with a flat tire! oh I was so broken. but the split rim tire is really easy to remove and replace. just check your tire pressure before each ride, make sure you're at 45-50 psi and you will probably never go flat.

It does look like they've improved several things on the Victor since I bought mine. Folding mechanism is nicer, has an EY4 instead of an EY3, has hydraulic NUTT brakes by default instead of the crappy hydraulic zoom brakes. Now, I use my Victor for commuting and it does just fine.

My stock fender looked pretty much exactly like yours. I hated it. Too calm and solemn. I cut it off and bought a vsett rear hugger and it looks mean now! My headlights are garbage as well, I bought handle bar bright lights. You Def need a footpeg or something back there.

I have a 2021 Victor and it originally came with the split rims / tubed tires. I would get flats every single week. Switched them up for tubeless DT3 Tires / rims and never once had a issue again.

I have 1600kms on mine. I got it in May of 2024 and ride it pretty hard and have had a bad accident with full gear that knocked me unconscious on it and it's still solid. Never a single issue besides the kinked wires. My friend in city has over 15000kms on his and hasn't had an issue but he's never folded it.

Build quality looks amazing. Design is beautiful. The deck is insanely high, like 30 cm above the ground, which makes the scooter look impressive. The cockpit looks stunning. Geometry and dimensions are nice. I feel I would not need a bigger scooter.

The throttle takes time to get used to, I actually hated it at first, like to slowly go up in speed you gotta squeeze really slow and that shit takes time to get used to. I like it now though and I can handle going slow even with the highest settings.

Good to know it's still solid after 1600km and an accident. That's reassuring for those of us considering the Victor Luxury Plus.

It is good to come with tubeless tire. You need to give some time to the scooter. By the way it is a great choice overall.

I have been using victor for 1 year. Nice scooter, I was able to reach a maximum speed of 87 km/h (climbing mode and starting effect: 0). If you want a victor, you should definitely get a horn and strong light, this is very important. I fell 1 time and crashed 1 time (my speed was around 50 km/h). Nothing happened, the scooter was intact. But it also has chronic problems. Such as cable breaks, ey3 screen not showing range, original tyres bursting too much.

I've had mine since 2022.. still going strong. Just tires and brake pads are the only thing that wears out.

I have had my Victor for 3 years and have 1170 miles on it. No mechanical or electrical problems. After flat tires rather quickly after purchasing it, I switched to the PMT tires and no more flats. I use the Shimano brake pads which seem to last a little longer than the Zoom pads that come with the brakes.

Minimotors products are a bit dated. They're a bit of a relic of the past; not quite really moving up to the next tier of scooter quality and builds. They're generally serviceable, not often the best value for the dollar and have some design issues (stem wobble) that pretty much still continue to be present.

I had the same question, but in the end I picked Spider Max since that one had IPX5 classification which the Victory Luxury hasn't.

Spider max sucks in maintenance and tunability department - on victor, you can easily change front and rear suspension and change deck height. You can water-proof victor, but you can't change core mechanic parts of your scooter.

You better off with victor from the marketplace, I got it for 1000€ 1.5 year old best buy ever.

Don't lift a Dualtron by the steering column. Even with a fixed clamp, avoid stressing the folding system. Do not mount bags or accessories on the column or handlebars, as it may compromise balance and strain key components. Always lift from the base or deck when needed.

I have the same model and mine has been amazing other than issues from the folding. I recently just changed all the stuff on the throttle side since it pinched inside the wire of the controller, brake sensor and dual mode switch. It cosmetically looked fine but internally the wires kinked and were shorting out.

If you've made your peace with the rubber cartridge suspension, square wave controllers, and lack of any IP rating; I think, financially, it's a pretty good deal. It does have a nice battery.

I think it's not terrible but honestly, I'm not a big fan of it. I'm not a big fan of the lack of power modulation on the trigger/controller. I'm not a fan of their pre-terrible cartridge style suspension. I'm not a fan of their tire and rim and motor configuration in terms of maintenance and repairability. The brakes are decent, but not the greatest.

I own Dualtron scooters and they are definitely of a higher build quality than others, they use premium batteries and components, design is not outdated as some people say. The dampeners work fine for street riding as intended, it's not a dirt bike, very smooth and also keeps the overall weight down. Under $2000 is great price for a scooter in this class.

You can upgrade suspensions to 3rd generation from bigger model, IP rating is present if I remember. Square wave lacks smooth, that is right, maybe not so effective, but it is usable.

You should consider heavily getting a scooter that has IPX5 rating, pain in the ass if it suddenly starts raining and you have to worry about water damage.

The fear is if something happens in the traffic and one must emergency brake then the steering pipe would be bent forward. So if a close to an accident situation happens, the steering and folding mechanism must be durable so we can fully use our brakes.

I'm faced with the option of paying $1200 for a victor pro with magura brakes, thunder 3 footrest and better light, but it has 6700km. The main thing I'm concerned about with the victor is the m50t cells that are only rated for up to 300 cycles.

At that price point I would lean towards a Nami Klima instead of the Victor Limited.

That's tempting, especially with the free tires thrown in. The Victor Limited usually goes for way more than that so you're looking at solid savings. Just make sure you factor in any potential service or warranty stuff since it's a clearance deal.

If you don't plan on folding it, replace the clamp bolts with standard bolts and tighten them as much as possible. Alternatively, buy a non folding stem clamp. The ride gets much better afterwards.

Outdated, theyre good but theirs better. More modern options most of the dualtron scooters have been the same since Like 2020.
