The Jetson Eris is a budget electric scooter aimed at short-distance commuters and college students who need something basic for campus or neighborhood use. Reddit sentiment skews negative, with recurring complaints about the built-in speed limiter that throttles performance after about 20 minutes of riding, leaving users frustrated and searching for hardware workarounds. Multiple users report out-of-box failures, error codes, and charger issues within the first few uses. Those who owned one tend to replace it rather than recommend it, often upgrading to brands like Gotrax, TurboAnt, or Segway Ninebot. It works for very short, flat commutes under $350, but the community consensus is that you're better off stretching your budget.

Almost every thread where someone mentions owning an Eris ends with a recommendation for a different brand. At its price point, it competes with Gotrax and TurboAnt models that Reddit consistently rates higher.
When the LCD or main board fails, Eris owners hit a wall — Jetson doesn't list core replacement parts on their site, and finding compatible third-party components requires trial and error.
TurboAnt X7 Pro is a solid choice, I've ridden it 1.5 miles each way to work and back 3 days a week since June and I am around double your non-backpack weight. They always run deals on the scooter and it's been pretty reliable for me.
View Original CommentOh! thank you this is a really helpful reply
View Original CommentThese things are ok. Just slow as shit after about 20 minutes.
View Original CommentAs someone who owns a g30p and has put over 1.5k km on it, just spend the little extra and get it. It's a great scooter that handles any abuse you throw at it, and has great mods available for getting a little more out of it.

View Original CommentMy last scooter was the eris from jetson. For now my budget is 100-400$ but next week if i push it it can be 100-600. Its for my job commute. Its a weekly 2.2 mile round trip.
View Original CommentWell got an email from someone at jetson asking me how did it happened who was riding it etc bs stuff they have to ask. Ask for pic of my eris scooter send them it and what happened bla bla bla. It's been a week an 5 days now nothing, no reply back so a few day I sent a follow-up email and wait to see if anything happens. If they won't help me out I found a kinda replacement online a little modification and it should work. I'm surprised they don't list all there parts.
View Original CommentDoes anyone knows where I can find a replacement for this? The threads are loose and it's not screwing correctly to the scooter. I searched Jetson's website and they don't have this part. Maybe is a part that is shared with another brand? Any help?
View Original CommentThe charger initially goes from green to red, then back to green after an hour or two. Is this still an indication of charger issue?
View Original CommentHey there and yeah ive held the button for more than 3 seconds and still nothing. It seems like its just got no juice but it charged when I first plugged it in. It was red and stayed red for 2 hours and then turned green.
