Summary

The Inokim Quick 2 is a mid-range electric scooter from Israeli brand Inokim, known in the community for solid build quality and reliability that outpaces most competitors in its class. Reddit owners consistently praise the brand's attention to detail and durability, with long-term users reporting thousands of kilometers of use with minimal issues. The scooter appeals to urban commuters who want a dependable, portable daily driver rather than a performance machine. Sentiment across threads is generally positive, though recurring gripes about water resistance and real-world range versus advertised specs temper the enthusiasm. It sits in a competitive segment where Inokim's reputation for quality justifies the premium over budget alternatives.

Pros

  • Exceptional long-term durability — multiple owners report 3,000–10,000+ km of use with no major mechanical failures, a standout track record compared to budget scooters
  • Pneumatic tires provide noticeably smoother ride quality over road imperfections compared to solid-tire competitors like the Micro Condor
  • Strong brand reputation for build quality: hidden cable routing, tight tolerances, and consistent quality control praised across multiple long-term owner reviews
  • Compact and portable enough for multi-modal commutes — fits on trains and can be carried into offices, making it practical for last-mile transit use
  • Active enthusiast community and established dealer network in markets like the UK and Israel, with responsive after-sales support reported by multiple users
  • Speed unlock options available via settings menu, with users reporting access to higher speed tiers beyond the default cap

Cons

  • Water resistance is a known weak point — owners in rainy climates (UK especially) report water ingress through front wheel guard gaps and wire entry points, causing controller failures
  • Real-world range falls significantly short of advertised figures; at full speed and heavier rider weights, actual range can be 50–60% of the spec sheet numbers
  • Battery indicator is unreliable — multiple users report bars disappearing unevenly, making it hard to gauge remaining charge accurately during rides
  • Rear tire wear is high under heavy use, with one long-term owner replacing the rear tube five times over 4,000 km, adding ongoing maintenance costs
  • At its price point, alternatives like the Ninebot Max G30P offer better waterproofing and comparable range, making value-for-money a legitimate concern
  • Deck size and throttle feel have been criticized by larger riders and those with bigger feet, with some finding stability compromised at higher speeds

Built to Last, But Not Built for Rain

Inokim's Quick 2 earns high marks for long-term durability — owners rack up thousands of kilometers without major failures — but water ingress is a recurring issue that UK and wet-climate riders keep running into, often requiring DIY sealing fixes.

Is the Inokim Premium Worth It Over the Ninebot Max?

Reddit threads repeatedly pit Inokim against the Ninebot Max G30P, and the verdict is split: Inokim wins on build feel and brand cachet, but the Ninebot's better waterproofing and rental-fleet-proven reliability make it the more practical choice for all-weather commuters.

The Range Debate: Marketing vs. Reality

Advertised range figures consistently get called out in community threads — heavier riders pushing full speed can expect roughly half the claimed distance. Slowing down and riding conservatively closes the gap, but the discrepancy frustrates buyers who took the spec sheet at face value.

So far, I have replaced my front tire twice and my rear tire five times. Mostly cause of the inner tubes. I've also replaced the handlebar grip to the Ergon GS1 just for better comfort.

Inokim's secret to success is that they have consistently high quality. If you can afford it and don't mind the reduced portability, the Quick 4 ticks far more boxes than the Light.

Escooters are one of those try before you buy products — possibly more so than anything I have purchased in the last decade. I test rode 12 scooters of all makes, shapes and sizes before buying. It is the small things that can bug you and everyone is different.

I bought it yesterday! From the ride home last night I'm very pleased. It was raining a bit but even full speed I had no grip worries. Hills were not a problem.

The front brake is noticeably stronger than the rear brake. It takes some time to get use to it. But after a couple of days, you'll know how much pressure to apply when braking. The rear brakes itself is more 'soft' and can't be used exclusively for emergency braking. You'll need to use both brakes.

Scooters are always always always, across brands and price ranges, 50-70% manufacturer estimated range. This is well known and has been discussed probably 700 times in the sub.

This scooter has a 460 watt hour battery. That should get adults up to around 200 pounds somewhere between 12 and 17 miles per charge. If you're lighter, go slow, with no hills, expect the higher end of that range. Maybe 20-ish miles but that's ambitious.

I bought it incorrectly thinking a scooter worth double what I'd paid so far would be better. I've had the following issues within 2.5 months of ownership.

I'm really glad I didn't get the Inokim, all I've heard is complaints from people about it.

Across two scooters, me and my missus have done about 10,000 km across two scooters, not a single major problem.

The Light 2 can definitely take a beating and from what they told me, it's very unlikely the tire needs replacing after 3 years of use. My coworkers, neighbors, and local Police Dept. like it.

The Inokim UK shop already did settings for me and took me through each option. Those guys are fantastic, really helpful! Answered all my questions.

I just checked our Light 2 and the speed hack is on menu 2. 35 kmph.

This is a fantastic machine for commuting in NYC. My wife and I regularly get 16–20 miles round trip on a charge. Given the machine weighs in at 30 lbs, that's an incredible amount of range for such a small machine.

My etwow can fold in half — the front wheel is the heavy hub motor so it's on the ground. I hold the handle, now attached to the back wheel's mud guard, and pull it around like luggage. I'm surprised not a lot of companies design it that way.

Getting only 10 km at full speed on a brand new scooter is not right at all. You either have a controller issue or a battery issue. Take it back to your store and have them check it.

The E-TWOW is the more popular option for an ultra portable scooter. But it is also not waterproof. I'm not sure if a waterproof ultraportable really exists — you pretty much have to be really confident it won't rain before you take either of these out for a ride.

40 kmph? I thought the speed hack was just 33 kmph?

Ive owned this scooter 3 times. First one I gave away to a friend after 3000km still ran fine, Second one got stolen. Third one I got 2nd hand for $500 with 500km spent. Ive been through 8 scooters now, I wish I just stuck with this one. Tough as nails, easy to maintain and repair. Its an absolute beast and I love it. Just keeps going.

I just wish I could successfully get a scooter with the waterproof board of the Pure but with the speed and brakes of the Inokim. I've sacrificed water resistance for speed and portability.

You should have considered the Ninebot Max G30P scooter instead. It hits all of the check marks and is water resistant — there's a reason why rental scooter companies use those in their fleet.

I've ridden mine for around 650 km so far with zero issues, zero flats (tubes have slime in them and I check the pressure every time I use the scooter) and a few times in the rain and I'm a pretty heavy rider (210 lbs). My experience with this scooter has been very good so far.

I bolstered the flap at the back of the front wheel guard as the technician told me the water got in through the opening at the front of the board where the wires go in, so I also used rubber glue to seal that as I wasn't taking any chances.

Those pneumatic tyres compared to the hard rubber are so much more comfortable over normal road surface. It's night and day better than the condor. I don't think the light 2 needs suspension for normal riding.

I found the Condor was a touch weak on steep uphills. While it was fun and very light/responsive to use, the lack of a bell, decent brakes or LCD left me feeling it wasn't worth the price.

40 kmph is confirmed. It can consume the battery a bit because of the speed, but not that much — I use mine for more than a week.

Dropping the speed to 30 km/h gets me about 26 km. The area I tried it on is very hilly, so I guess it isn't too bad. The problem seems to be more related to the battery indicator — the 1st and 3rd bar disappear in a matter of minutes while the last bar lasts forever.

I have exactly the same battery indicator problem, but the guys from the Inokim distributor told me that this is 'expected'. I can hardly agree with this.

Since you mentioned hills, I recommend that you invest in the G2 master instead of the G3 since it's dual motors. Also check out the GT08 — lots of people are praising it for being underrated for the price.

Israel (Inokim origin) and Britain might have different definitions of damp. Maybe consider getting a Kuickwheel — those have IP67 core components.

I usually remain in third gear but occasionally switch to second gear when navigating tighter spaces or at areas with moderate human traffic.

I find my Quick 3 does between 30–40 km on a charge. Limited to 20 km/hr on the same conditions takes me to 40 km, but at full speed it drops closer to 30 km.

I poorly worded my feelings about Pure. I suppose my gripe is that they are even selling the Inokim Light 2 because it's so god damn fragile.

I only didn't consider alternatives because of my bad experience with the ES4. I wished I had the Pure Air — waterproof, dust proof and just a tank of a scooter — if it was even just 17.5 mph I'd use it all day long.

I live in Israel so there are a lot of regulations regarding scooters, so sadly most brands are not allowed. I'm looking for something reliable that won't need parts replaced every few months.

I'm interested to buy an electric scooter now and can get a brand new Inokim Light 2 for 450 USD here at a local dealer. My weight is 91 kg and I'm planning to ride about 10 km a day (to the train and back).

I have an OX. The Inokim distance vs speed longevity is built in, engineered as far as I can tell. It has little tweak wiggle room. It's my first Inokim.
