Summary

The Vsett 10+ is a well-established dual-motor performance scooter with a loyal Reddit following built over several years of real-world ownership. Sentiment is broadly positive for riders prioritizing top speed (45–50 mph) at a competitive price point, with users regularly logging 2,000–4,000+ miles on their units. The scooter's biggest recurring issue is controller failure caused by the EABS regen braking system — a known problem with a known fix: disable it in the P-settings. The core Reddit debate centers on whether its tubed tires and IPX4 water resistance make it a poor buy compared to newer alternatives, or whether its lower price and growing aftermarket more than compensate.

Pros

  • Dual motor with 45–50 mph top speed available from $1,500–$2,200 depending on battery — competitive for its performance tier
  • Proven long-term durability: multiple owners report 2,000–4,000+ miles with no major failures beyond the EABS-related controller issue
  • Growing aftermarket ecosystem: new fender options, a variable hydraulic front suspension specific to the Vsett 10, and quad-point Nutt brake upgrade kits are actively available
  • Split rim design makes tube and tire changes straightforward and DIY-friendly compared to many competitor scooters
  • Strong spare parts availability that newer or less-established brands often can't match
  • 60V high-voltage setup delivers better low-end torque, smoother hill climbing, and less performance degradation as the battery drains compared to lower-voltage alternatives

Cons

  • EABS electronic regen braking is a known controller killer — multiple users burned through controllers before discovering the fix is to disable it entirely in P-settings
  • Tubed tires require consistent pressure maintenance at 50 PSI; one owner reported 15 flats over 2,500 miles before switching habits, though others go years with zero flats
  • IPX4 water resistance is a dealbreaker in rainy climates — riders in areas with frequent rain explicitly chose competitors like the Nami Klima over the Vsett for this reason
  • Speedometer reads faster than actual speed — the display overstates real-world velocity
  • Real-world range on the 28Ah at 210 lbs: approximately 31 miles in eco mode at under 19 mph — well short of advertised figures
  • Speed wobbles can occur above 42 mph, particularly over bumps — a steering damper is a commonly recommended add-on purchase that shouldn't be necessary at this price

Disable EABS Before Your First Ride

Reddit's most consistent Vsett 10+ advice isn't about tires or speed — it's to immediately turn off the electronic braking system. Multiple owners fried controllers before discovering this P-settings fix, and those who disabled it upfront report clean records with hundreds of additional miles.

The Tube Tire Debate That Won't Go Away

The Vsett 10+ costs $400–$500 less than the Nami Klima, but that gap comes with tubed tires and IPX4 water resistance. Reddit is split: some owners swear they've gone years without a flat at 50 PSI, while others call the tube tire situation a dealbreaker and say tubeless competitors are the obvious buy.

A Project Scooter With Real Legs

Unlike many scooters that go stale after launch, the Vsett 10+ has attracted an aftermarket community still releasing new hardware — variable hydraulic suspension, upgraded brake kits, and new fender mounting options. Owners treat it less like a finished product and more like a platform to build on.

Looks great. Wish they'd had the grey when I bought mine because I've never learned to love the yellow. Great scooter otherwise. Keep your tire pressure up at 50 psi or you'll be changing a lot of tubes. I learned that the hard way because I'm dumb. PS you can swap the handlebars out if you don't mind losing the folding ability. Standard bike size.

I never thought solid handlebar would make difference until I put them on and OMG what a difference!! Between that and my steering damper I have no fear.

The Nami klima is a better option than the vsett. Fixing flats is no fun — the vsett uses tube tires which are prone to flats. Tubeless tires rarely get flats. I often go through a set of tires with no flats with tubeless tires. The klima also uses sine wave controllers making it totally silent. They are smooth and their torque is better than the square waves. The klima is quicker than the vsett as well.

I have had Vsette 10+ for over two years and in hindsight I am glad I made this decision. No issues, great build quality. Regarding the issue with flat tires: anyone that complains about getting a lot of flats with tubed tires isn't checking their tire pressure. When I first got the scooter I had a couple of flats because I wasn't keeping the tires inflated at 50 psi. I've ridden for nearly a year now without getting a flat tire, but I'm very diligent about checking my tire pressure.

Love mine! Definitely get a solid mountain bike handlebar and if you're looking to really maximize, PMT tires are a total game changer.

Awesome to hear, check my psi before every ride and keep it at 50, I love my Vsett 10+, have 500 miles with not 1 issue, it's a beast!!

As for the batteries, it really depends on how you charge them. Namely 'Depth of discharge' (DoD) and how often you charge to 100% or let it dip below 20% or so. Also how fast you charge, and what temps they are normally at. After 4,000 miles, I would estimate your batteries have approximately 80% original capacity (SoC). This is just a very general estimate though. It could be as much as about 95%, or it could be as little as 50%. It all depends on the DoD/temps/discharge and charge rate.

Glad to see Vsett coming out with something new, not sure I like this design tho. Also not sure the practicality of the removable battery? I guess it's handy for people who don't want to carry the scooter inside and can just take the battery in for charging, but scooter still at risk of being stolen imo, so I'd always take it inside.

I just got the 20.8 ah version. Front break caliper is a little noisy but other than that it's a beast. I could see someone using this thing for tricks and jumping as well as off road. Way more throttle than you will probably need but it's better to have that extra just in case your feeling a little spunky. Does get scary at top speed with the speed wobbles but you get used to it kind of.

The lack of water resistance is what kept me away from vsetts despite having a brick and mortar dealer very close to me. I live in Portland and rain is an issue 8-9 months of the year.

I chose against the Vsett 10+ twice, largely due to the trigger throttle and the lack of deck space. In all fairness, it was in my top two both times, but we all have our priorities. If you like trigger throttles and don't have big feet, you'd do well to consider the Vsett.

I'd recommend not chintzing out and just spend the little bit extra for a Nami klima — it's a far better scooter. Sine wave controllers, tubeless tires. In 2500 miles I had 15 flats which requires tearing the scooter apart on the side of the road trail etc. Vs with tubeless tires in well over 10,000 miles I've had one flat tire which took under 5 minutes to plug and ride home. You couldn't give me a scooter that uses tubes.

I wouldn't personally buy a Vsett 10 because I don't want to deal with the hassle of getting a flat on tubed tires. And I think the Vsett lineup is looking pretty old and dated at this point compared to some of the newer models out there.

The higher voltage battery pack certainly doesn't go to waste. Higher volt setups are able to use a lower KV motor to obtain an equivalent speed as a lower volt setup, so the scooter will have more low end torque and better overall acceleration. High-volt setups don't suffer the same type of performance degradation at the end of the battery life as a 48V setup.

Right now it's insanely cheap. 1700$ for a removable battery, 50 mph, and hella range and good build quality, sounds like a score to me.

Sadly. Remember when they used to come with nutt brakes. Have no idea why they changed besides just cutting costs.

I'm one of the few that tested the Vsett 10+ R 60V 28AH Scooter and that's why I returned it for a refund. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to keep it because it's an awesome Scooter all around, but the Mileage claimed is NOT CREDIBLE! I tested this Scooter to see if what is claimed was true and also because I was excited to finally ride long range. Well, @ 210 lbs, I was only able to get 31 miles out of it on ECO MODE and going no more that 19 mph and under.

Have clocked 3500 KM on mine. Had a motor failure at 1000KM. Other than that no issues. I run it on maximum electronic braking though which may have contributed to failure.

Yeah I had the same issue with mine at around the same mileage. Seems like the vsetts only real vendetta.

The motors can go a long while if they're treated well. And with the battery, if you keep good charging habits it can last for years before any noticeable degradation. I'm on 3K with mines with almost a year and the battery is still good. I do not have the best charging habits either. I just enjoy it and if I have to buy another battery, so be it. With the money I save it'll pay for itself by the time that day comes.

Looks so good in grey! You'll love it, I put about 400km on mine this summer mostly commuting and had a blast. I am thinking about a better front shock or wider handlebars for after winter though. I got speed wobbles at the top end consistently when going over the slightest bumps. I typically keep to around 45-55km/hr though so not a huge issue for me yet.

I personally like a trigger throttle as I can still have full hand dexterity with my thumb wrapped around the grip, especially when jumping. The Vsett deck works fine for me, I wear 13 1/2 shoes and yes, I would appreciate more deck space, but the rear kickplate really helps mitigate that issue for me, also it helps it be more portable.

Six months ago, the answer would have been a sure yes. Now you've also got the Mantis King GT, the Roadrunner RS5+, and the Nami Klima to choose from. And the thing is, no matter which you pick, you're going to get a great scooter and be very happy with it.

When performance scooters like the 10+ are sold in speed limited countries, they have all the same components as normal, just with an extra cable connected that limits the top speed of the scooter. If you open up the deck and disconnect the speed limiter wire it'll be able to run at full performance.

The 10 apex is a solid scooter. But it's like buying a car from 2019 with a couple add ons and paying full price. Sure, they added a removable battery, and a USB charging port for your phone, but the only innovation here is the exposed controllers for cooling. And I suspect they only did that with the controllers because they couldn't stop them from overheating otherwise. The original vsett 10 could only hit boost mode (the same power level that this runs all the time) for two minutes before it would throttle.

New aftermarket parts are also still coming out for the vsett 10 on top of normal spare parts that other brands have trouble supplying. 3 new fenders with different mounting options, a new variable hydraulic front suspension specific to vsett 10 (127mm), and new quad point Nutt brake upgrade kit over the dual point stock. The community and vsett's manufacturers are heavily interested in making the 10 a small project scooter, making it relevant for months if not years to come.

I just got mine. The 25.6ah in gray. Love the build quality and choice so far. Glad I got it on sale. I think I gotta mess with the p settings so it doesn't throttle so hard. Would mostly prefer to just cruise slower. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the throttle trigger but it's nbd. Getting the new screen is cool too.

Go with the Vsett 10+ 25.6 amp. $2,190 on Ewheels and comes with a steering damper that's super easy to install. Ewheels is one of the best companies to deal with hands down!! You Email them, someone will respond within the hour, I got mine from them and could not be happier.

Even if they're restricted to 25kmh they're still not legal. Power is still over 4 times over the limit. That being said, I'm from the same country as you, have 2700+km on my 10+ and haven't had a single issue with the authorities. Just ride nice, wear safety gear and be mindful of others.

The vsett is $500 cheaper and that matters. But the Nami's acceleration is way better. Thicker tires as well with sinewave controllers are nice, not to mention the adjustable suspension and better water resistance.

I found a used 2023 Vsett 10+ with only 200 miles on it and loaded with upgrades for only $700! Steering damper, upgraded headlight and horn, Eva shock on the front, PMT efires, rev ride caps on the charging ports, new display and throttle. A dream! I couldn't believe I got such a great deal. I love this beast. It rides so smooth and powerful.

I've purchased this scooter in late January. I've rode it almost everyday since then. I had to change the controller because it got fried because of eabs. I would press the break, throttle and my scooter would skid to a stop. Giving me an error 0, never indicating it was the controller. This happened twice and I never thought about it because I would turn it back on and it would work fine. Eventually he didn't turn back on after it happened again a few months later. I came to the conclusion that eabs killed it. I turn mine off in the p settings and since turning that off completely, my new controller has been doing great. No turnoffs and I put 600 more miles on it since the change.

Not surprised by controller failure. I see vsetts all the time with that issue or cracked split rims. Controller failure shouldn't be happening so easy.

I've owned a Vsett10 28AH and the Nami klima. The klima has way faster acceleration and almost the same top speed as the Vsett10 (42 mph). It has sinewave controllers, so the throttle is super smooth. It has better hydraulic brakes, a much louder horn, more deck space, and better lights. The Vsett10 also reports its speed incorrectly. It says it's going faster than it really is.

How is your front shock bolt that's setup to sit inside the aluminum swing arms holding up? I rode the balls out of mine and it was starting to chatter at higher speeds — and this was the cause.

I think as others have stated, it's a good scooter for its price. Top speed it's great for its price range. Also has some nice benefits like the removable battery, and it looks sick in that stealth black kind of design. But it's just a dressed up Vsett 10+ at the end of the day. I'm pretty sure it still uses tubed tires (big bad).

I finally decided to go with the vsett 10+ (lite version, I hope to update battery later), sure it doesn't have all the improvements of the new model (such as removable battery) but at least I can easily lock it to 25km/h and unlock it when riding in places where it is allowed to go faster. I'm happy with it so far, the build quality is incredible!

If you have PMT efires, set them to 45psi. If you have stock tires, ALWAYS SET THEM TO 50, to avoid flats. I have two Vsett 10+, and I only had 1 flat in two years, when I drove near a construction site.

I have the 25ah version so I can somewhat attest to that. The previous owner said you can get up to 60km single motor on very conservative driving. If you were to use it however may only be 50km. Its a decent scooter. But for its current price there may be other options better suited.
