Summary

The Zero 9 Pro is a mid-range performance electric scooter that sits in a sweet spot between budget commuters and heavy dual-motor beasts. Reddit owners consistently praise its balance of speed, range, and portability — hitting real-world speeds around 45-49 km/h and roughly 30 km of range, while weighing in at a manageable 18-19 kg. The community generally views it as a serious upgrade over entry-level scooters like the M365 Pro, with pneumatic tires, front hydraulic disc brake, and suspension making a noticeable difference in ride comfort. It's also sold under the Turbowheel Dart and Apollo City names in different markets, so availability is wider than the Zero branding suggests. The consensus is that it's a capable, well-rounded scooter for urban commuters who want real performance without stepping up to a 30+ kg dual-motor machine.

Pros

  • Real-world top speed of 45-49 km/h with lighter riders (~74 kg), making it genuinely fast for urban use
  • Manageable weight around 18-19 kg — portable enough to carry into a car or up stairs, unlike heavier performance scooters
  • Front hydraulic disc brake plus rear drum brake provides solid stopping power compared to budget scooters with drum-only setups
  • Pneumatic tires and suspension deliver a noticeably smoother ride over rough urban terrain and light off-road conditions
  • Split rim design makes tire changes straightforward — a practical advantage for long-term ownership
  • Widely available under Turbowheel Dart / Apollo City branding, making parts and support accessible across regions

Cons

  • Hill climbing performance drops significantly under load — users report speeds falling to 17-25 km/h on steeper gradients, especially with heavier riders
  • Handlebar folding mechanism can develop wobble over time; requires thread locker or plumber's tape as a workaround
  • At ~19 kg, it's not truly lightweight — riders prioritizing portability over performance may find the Zero 9 cumbersome compared to lighter sub-15 kg options
  • Waterproofing is not factory-sealed — users recommend applying silicone or T-7000 adhesive to protect electronics before riding in wet conditions
  • Competing scooters like the Inokim Quick 3 are rated higher for build quality and ride comfort, though at a €200-300 premium
  • Slime tire sealant noticeably reduces top speed and may require axle cleaning to restore performance

Does the Zero 9 Pro Hold Up in Wet Weather?

Reddit owners are clear that the Zero 9 Pro is not waterproof out of the box. Most recommend sealing the controller and connectors with silicone before riding in rain — a minor mod that owners say makes a big difference for long-term reliability.

The Scooter That Goes by Three Names

The Zero 9 Pro is essentially the same machine as the Turbowheel Dart and Apollo City — same factory, same components, different regional branding. Reddit users in the US, EU, and Asia have figured this out, which means parts and community knowledge are far more available than the Zero name alone would suggest.

At This Weight, Portability Is a Real Trade-Off

Owners who chose the Zero 9 over the Zero 10 consistently cite the 13 lb weight difference as the deciding factor. At 19 kg, the Zero 9 Pro is carry-able but not convenient — and several Reddit users say that realization only hit them after living with the scooter for a few weeks.

Zero 9 — Speed and power (49 kmh with my 74 kg), almost portable (19 kg) I can carry, short so it fits easily in a car, great suspension (you are on a little cloud), easy to change tires (rim splits in 2), looks good, wide handlebars give permanent control, waterproof if you apply some silicone or T-7000, easy to find parts.

You know Turbowheel and Zero's are the same model right? Same factory, same parts. They just rebrand the same thing around the world. Zero is the EU name, Turbowheel is US and Speedual is the Asian version.

I have owned both the zero 9 and 10 and ridden the zero 8. Zero 9 Pro: fast speed up to 28mph, real world range of 20 miles, great lighting, powerful yet fairly light (18kg), good brakes (front hydraulic and rear drum), decent suspension.

The Zero 9 handlebars will not come loose if you put some plumber's tape on them or blue loctite, assuming you don't use that folding feature much. You claim the Zero 9 goes 49kph, mine only does 46 on flat ground.

I think Zero 9 wins.

Almost unfair to compare to the 48v Zero 9 which is a bigger better scooter. The Inokim scooters are great but they are definitely over-priced.

The Inokim Light 2 is horrible — cheap junk at premium price. The Zero 9 is a much better value proposition at its price point.

Depends on the hill and battery percentage. With 100% it can take me at 25 kmh more or less on a 15% hill. And this is remarkable in my case, especially because that hill is not smooth terrain.

I chose the Zero 9 over the Zero 8 for the higher power motor (600W vs 500W), front disc brake, rear pneumatic tire, and LG battery system. I found the upgrades to be worth it.

I own a Zero 10 and was at the same dilemma. Think of it this way — if you think the Zero 9 fits perfectly enough for you, Zero 10 will pump it up a notch or two. The battery alone of Z10 vs Z9 means it will take you some serious spins before charging. Also, Zero 10 has 10 inch tires vs 8 inch tires of Zero 9, which gives me more confidence on the road.

I was choosing between the zero 9 and zero 10. Was able to ride both. I chose the 9. I wanted to be able to easily put it in my car and take it to places. The 13 lb difference between the two was significant for me. The difference in size between the 2 was noticeable as well. If portability is important to you the zero 9 hands down.

Go for the 10. You may want to upgrade down the line. If you know that you like to go faster, just pull the trigger now.

I own a mini 4 pro and a zero 9. The zero 9 is the more comfortable ride and has a front brake. When comparing the two models from stock I would go with the Zero 9.

I have the 52V version and I still top at about 46+ on flat. My tires are at 45psi with no slime yet — after I used slime I get slightly lower top speeds. Maybe the axle needs some cleaning too and some grease.

I want to buy one that I don't need to mod too much — so the Mini4 is slowly going out of my list and the Zero 9 is rising. I want one that has a physical shop or service available, not just something from Alibaba.
