Summary

The AMD Radeon RX 7600 is a budget-to-midrange GPU designed primarily for 1080p gaming, and the Reddit consensus is that it delivers solid performance at that resolution — but its value has always been its biggest controversy. The main complaint at launch was that it performed nearly identically to the older RX 6650 XT while being priced the same or higher, which made it a hard sell in markets where RDNA 2 cards were still available. For users in regions where older AMD cards are scarce or overpriced, the 7600 makes considerably more sense. It runs modern titles at high settings at 1080p without issue, and several owners report comfortable 1440p gaming in esports and older titles. The card's 8GB VRAM and 128-bit memory bus are cited as limitations that may affect longevity, but most real-world owners are satisfied with their purchase.

Pros

  • Strong 1080p performance — owners consistently report high or ultra settings at smooth framerates in titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Marvel Rivals, Forza Horizon 5, and CoD, with many hitting 80-120+ FPS
  • Capable at 1440p for esports and older titles — multiple owners use it daily at 1440p for games like Assassin's Creed, GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, and PCVR without complaints
  • RDNA 3 architecture brings AV1 hardware encode/decode, improved ray tracing over RDNA 2, and better driver support trajectory compared to the 6600 series
  • Compact and power-efficient enough for HTPC and small form factor builds — the card fits SFF cases and runs within a 500W PSU budget
  • Price dropped significantly after launch controversy, and at $200-$249 most owners call it a good value for 1080p gaming
  • FSR and Fluid Motion Frames compatibility gives the card extended longevity through upscaling and frame generation support

Cons

  • Only 8GB VRAM on a 128-bit bus — newer AAA titles are increasingly pushing past 8GB at high settings, and texture streaming issues are already appearing in some games
  • At launch, it matched or barely exceeded the RX 6650 XT in performance while costing the same or more, making it a poor value when RDNA 2 cards were still available
  • Not a 4K card — averages around 20 FPS at 4K ultra in demanding titles, and even lighter workloads at 4K require dropping to older or less demanding games
  • Loses to the RX 6700 (10GB, 192-bit bus) in both performance and VRAM headroom, often at a similar price point — the 6700 and 6700 XT were the better purchase in most US/EU markets
  • No frame generation support comparable to Nvidia's DLSS 3, and FSR quality at 1080p is generally considered inferior to DLSS — relevant if DLSS titles are in your library
  • Navi 33 die uses trimmed RDNA 3 compute units (128K VGPR vs 192K on Navi 31), meaning real-world RDNA 3 architectural gains are smaller than the top-end 7900 series

Owners Are Happy, But Launch Buyers Feel Burned

The Reddit split on the RX 7600 breaks down neatly by when and where you bought it. People who picked it up at or below $230 think it's a solid 1080p card. Those who paid $270+ at launch are more bitter, especially when they could've had a 6700 for the same price.

The 6700 Problem Nobody Warned You About

The RX 7600's biggest competitor wasn't the RTX 4060 — it was AMD's own RX 6700 10GB, which offered more VRAM, a wider memory bus, and better performance at nearly the same price. Reddit repeatedly pointed this out, and it remains the core reason the 7600 was seen as a poor value proposition in markets where the 6700 was available.

Actually a Good Card in Emerging Markets

Users from Brazil, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and other regions where RDNA 2 cards never dropped in price found the 7600 to be one of the best options under $300. The global pricing discourse around this GPU is largely US/EU-centric, and for a significant chunk of its buyers, it filled a real gap in the budget segment.

AMD's GPU business in recent years seems to boil down to 'undercut NVidia a little but not too much'...it's sad. We're not going to see any advancement or significant change on the market until Intel is ready, it seems...

The 7600 offers 6650XT performance for 6650XT power consumption (it actually has more transistors!!!). This is a joke lol.

Complaints about the 7600 are relative to pricing. It's quite common for amd gpus to be launched on the pricy side, but then over time prices improve a lot. If you paid much more than the price of a 6650xt then it was a bad buy, because both are pretty similar. It's a good GPU for 1080p.

AMD does this strategy a lot. Leak bad price, adjust price at or near launch to garner the perception that it is a 'good price'.

Just get a 6700 10GB for $10 more and avoid VRAM bottlenecks at 1080p, at least for the foreseeable future.

Absolutely no reason to buy this when the 6650xt and 6700xt still exist. The 6650xt performs basically the same for quite a bit cheaper and the 6700xt outperforms it for not much more expensive.

So the 4060 ti is a total bust and AMD is perfectly placed to crown themselves as entry level/mid range kings again... Then this happens… Talk about clutching defeat from the jaws of victory smh.

There are no bad GPUs, merely badly priced GPUs.

I have it and honestly if you get it at a decent price its pretty good. Haven't had any issues running all my games at or near max settings with a solid frame rate at 1080p.

7600XT is not a good value card compared to the plain non-XT. We can't really predict the next 5 years, but the 7600 will not last that long, especially if you have increasing demands of it. But if you're not gonna play the latest and greatest visual spectacles, then the 7600 is a perfectly adequate 1080p card.

I would recommend you look at the product yourself and: if it fits your needs and your budget: go for it!! People will always complain about stuff... and most reviews I see are made for a US/Europe audience with more money than the lot of us that live in 'poorer' countries.

It's not horrible but it's not great. It's a bit faster than old gen, better ray tracing, better encoding, still 8gb of vram, and higher power consumption at a lower msrp.

I am using RX 7600 on 1440p. I think its still good but i mostly only play esports games, old games and indie games. Planning to upgrade to RX 7800 XT in a few months.

Because its AMD and they will always get shit on no matter what they do lmao. 7600 gets setup against the 6700 because only AMD should be forced to beat a 700 class with an entry level new Gen. Meanwhile Nvidia happily throws a 4060Ti on the market which costs more than a 3060Ti and loses against it.

No, people expected 6700 performance at 300$. Instead they got 6650XT performance at 10-15% higher prices. AMD should have done what NV did with the 4080 12G: unlaunch it, cut prices and sell it one tier lower - where it belongs.

It's ok, but I'd rather save some money and just get a rx7600 instead. Like any modern GPU it will last 4-6 years of its intended use. Nothing in a computer is future proof really.

It's an alright card for the price, but I'd imagine games here in the next few years will absolutely chew through the 8gb of vram that it has.

I think at $235 right now it's a good buy. Similar or better to 6650xt performance with newer hardware. Might also consider the 6750xt or 6800 for more power and VRAM if considered future proofing.

Nah. I live in Taiwan and the prices for most of AMD 6000 GPUs just wouldn't drop. Thus the 7600 actually kind of make sense here. It has been long that we got a decent GPU priced under 9000 NTD.

Because there is little to none generational improvement, which to be fair the 7600 should be more directly compared to the 6600 not the 6600 xt, 6650xt. The performance should be better especially when there's plenty of last gen stock around that perform the same if not better for a better price.

An RX 6800XT could be had for similar prices used and be relatively futureproof for the next 4-5 years with much better performance. A 7600xt, while it has great VRAM amounts, doesn't have a ton of horsepower to back it up.

Yes, it has performance similar to an RX 6650XT or RTX 4060.

Not sure in Brazil but the previous generation 6700XT can be gotten for the same price as a 7600 and performs better (50% bigger bit bus and VRAM as well).

Basically a refreshed 6650XT. Buy whichever is cheaper if you wish to buy in this price segment. Essentially the same cards in terms of performance. Pretty disappointing tbh.

No reason to get it over a cheaper 6650xt (same performance) or a slightly more expensive 6700xt/6750xt (much better performance).

I have the Saphire pulse and it was my first GPU, I'm not demanding on graphics as long as I have good FPS. Although it comes with 8GB, you will have to tweak some graphics settings in some games, but other than that, for me it is a good graphic. I've been using it for 2 years now and maybe it's time to change the thermal paste, although I always check the temperatures and they're fine.

Look at the chart here. The RX 7600 averages just over 20 fps at 4k ultra. Lowering quality settings wouldn't get you over 60 likely, so it's not a good card at all. RX 7600 is a 1080p card.

I'm using a rx7600 with a ryzen 5 5600 and 16gb ram (single stick) works quite well for me on 1080p at games like delta force, marvel rivals and newer titles. Solid budget option for 1080p gaming.

7600 is not a 4k card, it does best in 1080 and only slightly tickles 1440.

My girlfriend have an rx 7600 and it's running on high settings buttery smooth doing over 80FPS, even with some ray tracing and FSR on it was always above 70 (1080p). Just bought one for myself because I gave up trying to find a better GPU.

It's a perfectly good card, just not the best value because previous gen cards are still available at similar prices. For something from the latest RDNA architecture, it's not bad. Great card for 1080p, and can comfortably do 1440p 60fps in most instances.

I have the 7600 and would not attempt 4k with it on modern titles. I've been using the 7600 at 3440x1440 with high to ultra settings on some fairly recent games, and it's been just fine. 'It's only good for 1080p' is just not accurate for everyone.

The complaints and negative reviews were based on the launch price being too high. I think it came out for $279 and at the time you could get something like a base 6700 that would perform better for $20 more. These days a 7600 is priced more competitively, like $220-$250 which is a lot better. Either way the card is awesome and brought some good improvements over the last gen 6600.

I paid $250 for my MSI Mech 7600. I needed a smallish (short) gpu for my HTPC which is connected to an older Panasonic Plasma TV (60hz, 1080p). So far I've been happy with the performance. Running Timespy my GPU score is 11250 which is about 900 less than another PC I have with a EVGA FTW Ultra 3060ti.

I bought an 7600 XT and its running perfectly for me. I have an amd 5 5600 32 gigs of ram and an radeon 7600XT. I can run cyberpunk at ultra settings at around 100-120 fps. Also I might be lucky since i snatched it for 350 dollars. So, for the price I got it its extremely good.

I bought it cuz I saw very good reviews on it and it was the only one at microcenter I could find at a reasonable price. Im happy because I can play Forza Horizon 5 with everything at settings ultra so what else could I want? I was just wondering why people was hating at this GPU.
