Summary

The Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 is a polarizing but respected gaming mouse that dominates competitive FPS circles. Reddit sentiment is genuinely split — longtime fans swear by its iconic shape and optical switches, while value-conscious users point aggressively at Chinese clones that undercut it at half the price. The mouse sits in a tough market position where its premium is hard to justify purely on specs, but difficult to dismiss for users who love the shape. Build quality complaints around mushy side buttons and scroll wheel issues are real and recurring, though Logitech's warranty support is consistently praised. For competitive players who already know and love the GPX shape, it remains a top-tier choice; for anyone price-sensitive or new to premium mice, the clones are impossible to ignore.

Pros

  • Optical switches eliminate the double-clicking problem that plagued the Superlight 1 — a frequent and frustrating failure mode Reddit users regularly complained about on the original.
  • Shape is considered near-perfect by a large segment of users across multiple grip styles; several users call it their 'endgame' mouse even after trying dozens of alternatives.
  • USB-C charging and up to 8K polling rate support make it technically current, with 70+ hour battery life praised as the best in class for wireless gaming mice.
  • Logitech's two-year warranty with responsive support is consistently highlighted as a meaningful advantage over Chinese alternatives that ship with a 6-week AliExpress dispute process.
  • Long-term durability holds up well under heavy use — multiple users report 2+ years of intensive FPS sessions without core performance issues when build quality is good out of the box.

Cons

  • Side buttons are widely described as mushy and cheap-feeling — a consistent criticism across threads and multiple hardware reviewers, unacceptable at a $150+ price point.
  • Scroll wheel quality is a known weak point inherited from the Superlight 1 era; users report encoder issues and scroll wheel malfunctions within months of use.
  • Chinese clones like the ATK A9, Mchose A7, and Incott G23 V2 offer near-identical shape and similar sensor performance for 40-60% of the price — making the GPX2's value case genuinely hard to defend.
  • Stock PTFE skates are slow and considered a mandatory upgrade by enthusiast users, adding cost and effort on top of an already expensive purchase.
  • Pricing at MSRP ($150-160) draws near-universal criticism; most positive ownership experiences are tied to sale prices around $80-130, suggesting the mouse is overpriced at full retail.

The Clone Army Is Winning the Argument

r/MouseReview has become so pro-clone that recommending ATK or Mchose alternatives is now the default response to any GPX2 inquiry — even for brand new PC owners. The sub's bias is real, but so is the value gap.

Shape Loyalty Keeps This Mouse Alive

Users who've tried dozens of alternatives — Vaxee, Lamzu, Finalmouse, Zowie — keep returning to the GPX shape. That muscle memory and ergonomic fit is the single strongest argument for paying the Logitech premium.

Side Buttons Are a $150 Embarrassment

From teardown reviewers to casual users, the mushy side buttons are the GPX2's most consistent hardware failure. At this price, it's the kind of corner-cutting that sticks in people's memory long after unboxing.

Get a Chinese clone they're faster lighter and better overall. If you want a logi then go for the superlight. This is from a guy with a superlight and a gp wireless.

Nothing about the Superlight 2 is going to translate to a better performance in-game.

Newer sensor, optical main switches, 3 grams lighter, and 8k polling support. The optical switches prevent double clicks but the click feel of GPX2 isn't as good as most mechanical switches.

Pros: New Shape feels like a marriage of the G403 and the GPX Superlight shape. The Arch fills out your hand really well. Performance is good since it has identical internals to the GPX 2. Cons: Loose and inconsistent clicks with pre-travel and wobble. Slight flex in the body, unusual for a $150 mouse.

Only got a few hours in on mine (also the white one). So far no issues, quality feels identical to the regular G PRO 2.

A product being worth or not depends on your needs, desires, and income. Shape will always be the king in mice. So if you want to try lots of cheap mice in the future, that's a solid strategy. If you already know what you like and you want a superlight, getting one is good too.

Seems like you just got unlucky, my DEX is solid and haven't seen many other issues with build quality from others so far.

Pro x superlight 2 is one of the few decent mice Logitech makes these days (build and parts quality wise). This price is competitive with similar quality 8k polling mice.

No matter how much people hate on logitech, the superlight will always be a banger of a mouse and one of my favorites. Have fun with it.

If you have the money then it's worth it. But if you're hesitant because you're not sure if you'll like the shape, or if you just can't stomach paying $160 on a gaming mouse, there are plenty of GPX clones out there (ATK A9, Mchose M7).

The Lightspeed actually uses a normal battery just as the Superlight (might even be the same?), but is still 20g heavier because of the swappable sidebuttons and the logo having RGB.

I bought it after testing the Sora v2. I just love the shape. Hopefully it has no issues.

The real question is how the new switches will perform. No way in hell I'm accepting double click issues for 170€.

They don't perform identical or better. Mice like the attack shark are very good but not quite as good. you get most of what it is but those extra features separate the gpx from their clones. Even if you make that argument. None of them are better. Some come close but none are better mice overall.

I would recommend an ATK A9. It is identical in shape to a Superlight and even the coating is similar. In a blind test I cannot tell the differences in a Superlight 2 and the A9 Plus. The build quality is good as well and it's a fraction the price of the Light speed.

I have the same exact hand size as you and this is my favorite mouse I've used in a long time, I claw grip it. It has just enough of a hump to claw grip but not big enough to get in the way, makes adjustments easy. It's also surprisingly comfortable for a small size.

I don't like the size of the superlight 2 but now there is a mini version I can now enjoy the potato size in the compact version.

This mouse was unusable for me because of how loud the omrons are, but I managed to hotswap it for some silent switches, and it's really good now.

It comes with 2 year warranty and automatic profile switching, and the best battery life out there. Also in case anything goes wrong you have a guaranteed way of reaching out to support for help.

Absolutely not. The microswitches on main buttons are awful, loud and completely different feel/feedback than thumb switches and also completely different than middle mouse button. The MMB is another story - not only awful microswitch but unreliable, and the encoder is spotty at best. A lot of complaints on the net, in my case it started making weird sounds after about a month.

Depends on the price. If you're buying GPX 2 in 2025 for its SRP($160) then its not worth it. However, if you are getting it with a huge discount, like I did, then yes it is! I got mine for about $85 bucks here in the PH during Holiday flash deals. The performance of this mouse is still top tier, and the main buttons are so crispy, only few gaming mice out there can really compete with its clicks, and the build quality is really solid.

If you're a casual gamer, no. But, if you're a competitive player, I think it's the best option.

Get a clone, like the A7 or something. I have an A7X Ultra which granted, is a more expensive clone, but it has way nicer clicks, weighs the same if not less, has a magnesium shell, best pixart sensor out right now, and it's still cheaper than the GPX2. I tried GPX2, it's worse than the original GPX, imo.

The Superlight is the better mouse. The Pro 2 Lightspeed is just shoving the organs of a Superlight into the body of an original G Pro Wireless, which means you get a heavier weight with RGB and left-handed support with the clicks and sensor of the Superlight. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're a left handed player or prefer the heavier weight.

I hate that double sided tape was the best they could do for the battery. I have three and all of them have had a loose battery, super annoying.

Will this suffer from the double click issue all the logitech mice do? I've been deciding between this, ANOTHER g305 or deathadder.

This mouse uses optical switches, which are not susceptible to the double-click issue.

Super late reply but I've tried dozens of mice. Vaxee xe v2, Vaxee e1, Zowie mice, lamzu maya, etc. I sold all of them and only use my superlight. The shape is just perfect.

I tried this mouse and the incott g23 v2. Incott is just a better executed gpx 2; nicer stock skates, better shell, cool colour way with the teal and the scroll wheel. Also it's half the price. Just returned the gpx 2 and stuck with incott.

GPX 2 is worth it for $130, but should also be cheaper along with every other mouse thats $100 and up. It has a very unique shape that accommodates to a lot of people and it outperforms and outlives a majority of the mice on the market.

I've gone through five G203s, and now this XPRO Superlight 2 is starting to feel mushy after just 5 months. I'm about to RMA it. Honestly, every single Logitech mouse I've owned has ended up needing an RMA.

My back side button has been horrific since I got it. Wobbles, tapping on it rattles because theres room between the switch and the button. My LMB randomly crunches and has become a bit wobbly. Have had 3 or 4 spinouts now in CS2.

I had to replace my GPX Superlight twice because of the double clicking and scroll wheel issue after several months. Got tired and bought soldering tools and replaced the switches and scroll wheel encoder. Spent $30 for all the stuff including the tiger ice mouse skates. Almost 2 years and still no issue. I could have bought a different mouse but I just love the shape of the GPX Superlight.

Superlight is the best mouse hands down in my experience. I've heard of niche or smaller companies making something better, but I am yet to feel that. I own Alienware mice, Razer mice, Logitech mice, and a few others. Replaced my G Pro regular for a Superlight and the weight difference is perfect. Do yourself a favor and buy the Superlight, you won't regret it.

I bought this mouse yesterday. It is just the right amount of tension relief to maintain accuracy in FPS games but release that weird omnipresent strain that I always felt in the background. I goddamn love this mouse.
