Summary

The Logitech Lift is a vertical ergonomic mouse aimed at office workers and people dealing with wrist pain or carpal tunnel syndrome. Reddit sentiment is mixed-to-positive: users with genuine hand and wrist issues swear by it, while mouse enthusiasts and power users find its outdated sensor, 125Hz polling rate, and weight to be real dealbreakers. It's a niche product that delivers on its core ergonomic promise for low-demand use cases, but falls short for graphic designers, gamers, or anyone needing precision. The adaptation period is real — most users report needing 1 to 2 weeks to feel comfortable — but those who stick with it often say they can't go back to a flat mouse.

Pros

  • Effectively reduces wrist and hand strain for office workers — multiple users report years of pain-free use after struggling with conventional mice
  • Smaller and more comfortable than the MX Vertical for small-to-medium hands, with softer edges and better button positioning
  • Silent left/right clicks make it office-friendly, and the rubber grip texture feels premium and secure in hand
  • Supports both Bluetooth and Logi Bolt USB receiver (standard version), making it flexible across Windows and macOS setups
  • Battery life is consistently praised, and the AA battery format means no charging anxiety
  • The Lift for Business version offers smoother glide feet and a less glossy, sandblasted plastic finish compared to the standard model

Cons

  • Sensor and polling rate are outdated — 125Hz poll rate and a budget-grade sensor make it unsuitable for graphic design, precision work, or any gaming beyond casual browsing
  • Weight exceeds 125g, making wrist-flick movements awkward and increasing the risk of accidentally knocking the mouse due to its tall profile
  • Click switches degrade within 1–2 years — multiple users report left or right buttons becoming harder to press or failing to register, often just outside the 1-year warranty window
  • Logitech's 1-year warranty and post-warranty support is poor — users report receiving only a 30% discount coupon when switches fail after the warranty period
  • Not suitable for large hands — users with hands above 19–20cm report it feeling too cramped, and the MX Vertical may be a better fit despite its own issues
  • Vertical orientation transfers clicking force sideways rather than downward, which can cause the mouse to shift during clicks until you adapt your grip technique

The Thumb Pain Warning Nobody Mentions

A PSA thread with 132 upvotes warns that long-term exclusive use of the Lift contributed to De Quervain's tenosynovitis in at least one user. Physiotherapists cited in the thread recommend rotating between mouse types throughout the day rather than relying on a vertical mouse as a permanent fix.

Great Ergo Mouse, Terrible Long-Term Reliability

The Lift's click switches are a known weak point — users consistently report them hardening, misfiring, or dying around the 1–2 year mark. Given the price point and Logitech's limited post-warranty support, several Reddit users have concluded the MX Vertical or a budget vertical alternative offers better value.

Graphic Designers Are Split on Whether It Works

One designer who bought it anyway reported that after 2–3 days of adjustment, precision was 'decent enough' for Illustrator and After Effects work. But others — including a reviewer who tried it for Photoshop — found the sideways click force and elbow-pivot movement style too imprecise for detailed tasks.

Don't they put some 15 years old budget sensors into those to cheap out?

I have a very unpopular opinion about Logitech ergonomic mice: they are overrated and Logitech have incredibly good branding and marketing teams to spread the idea they are awesome products. I own a MX Master and strongly think it is crap (except the scroll wheel). Logitech high end models concept is the following: we are unattracted by a lot of mainstream products (gaming, etc.), so when doing our searches, those weirdly shaped devices suddenly seem to be the best idea in the world.

Probably. These things are marketed to offices and older people where they'll never notice old tech.

Funny thing — I have a pinched ulnar nerve, and the only solution is a vertical mouse.

Update on the Lift: Hi guys, been using it for almost half a year now. I have no complaints and it eases my wrist real good. Even if you don't have carpel tunnel syndrome or wrist pain, I suggest you try it out, helps your wrist relax better. However, I notice recently my cursor is glitching and I wonder if it was the sensor that's broken or because of the low polling rate.

This mouse is not designed for precision work. It is mostly designed for office people and those who suffer from wrist pain or carpal tunnel syndrome due to the mouse. For this, it does help. I use it from time to time for a couple weeks when I get the pain back. It's great for basic browsing but any kind of gaming outside of super chill stuff is impossible, let alone any precision work like graphic design or drawings… In my opinion, don't bother.

To anyone reading, this mouse is definitely not designed to put a hand around. I would steer away from it since it is a very uncomfortable mouse. Do not read the paid reviews.

Good to know about the De Quervain's risk. That said, we're all different... some people might develop symptoms, while others never will. It really depends on many factors. Still, prolonged use without movement or changing positions does increase the risk.

Just got a business version since the old normal version developed a faulty switch. Comparing to the regular: smoother glide, text on the bottom, side buttons are more tactile and way louder, material of the white plastic parts is less glossy and more grippy, almost like sandblasted. The business version is a good upgrade over the normal version.

Thank you for this review! I'm shopping around for a new mouse and this has been so helpful. Like you, I really like the idea of a dedicated horizontal scroll wheel on the Master 3s, but I think the ergonomic fit of the Lift is going to make it my winner.

I've been using this for 2 days, I do elaborate drawings on illustrator and animation on after effects. So far it's helped a lot with the numbness in my fingers that I've been getting with my regular mouse these last 2 weeks. You get used to it pretty fast, and honestly it's precise enough for the work I do.

I love this mouse. I used the triathlon before and it's that type of thing that you only notice how bad your situation was when you experience the good version, simply cannot use normal mice anymore, this type of mouse is just way more comfortable.

I own one, everything works fine except the left and right mouse buttons need a hard press. Might be a defect though, but overall feels great on the hand and the surface feels really nice and comfy.

I've had both the Lift and MX Vertical. They're both good mice but MX Vertical has massive material and build quality degradation issues in the long term. The soft plastic begins to totally disintegrate within a couple of years, and the mouse buttons begin to misclick long before that. Lift is more robust, smaller, heavier due to batteries. Overall I preferred MX Vertical during the honeymoon phase, but it might as well not exist unless they've changed their materials and components.

Personally, I really like the Logitech Lift mouse. It's fairly small which is perfect for my hand. I use it to de-stress my arm and hand from the usage of normal mice and it works great for me. The Lift is smaller than the MX Vertical and with less sharp edges, the hand envelops the mouse quite nicely. I suspect it will not be comfortable for someone with big hands.

It depends what kind of grip he has. If it's palm grip, the MX Vertical is likely a better choice. If he's a claw gripper — then the Lift. If he prefers silent clicks — the Vertical is a dealbreaker because that thing is loud. The Lift has silent clicks except back/forward buttons, which is stupid design.

Logi vertical mice are horrendous for any serious gaming. If intent on it, look elsewhere with something that has better response times.

There is definitely no single Logitech product which does all well — don't get the Vertical/Lift for gaming (they don't feel right at all). The MX Master 4 is the best balance of everything but not the best for competitive gaming due to polling rate. My girlfriend has the MX Vertical — good for productivity, not for gaming.

Piece of shit mouse. Walk away from it. My left click and many others' left clicks died within a year or two of use. Mine was just out of warranty. It's a good feeling mouse but the internals of it are shit. Logitech MX Master 3S or the actual Logitech MX Vertical or whatever it's called.

I don't understand the majority's opinion here. I own one of these at home and 2 at work, this is by large the best mouse I have ever had. I have great precision at work (I work in IT), and at home I use it for gaming. I have used them for a year or so. My hand and wrist pain are a distant memory, and boy did I suffer before. I was on the verge of not being able to use a mouse at all.

Oh it's garbage. The click buttons wore out after a year. I have to slam it now. A shame since it's 100 dollars AND comfy. The sensor is meh but it's not the biggest deal.

Used this mouse for a couple of years for work, but recently started just using my gaming mouse instead. The vertical grip is easier on the wrist, but it's chonky. Easily over 150g. I wouldn't recommend this mouse if you wrist flick a lot. The mouse's height makes it easy to accidentally knock across the desk when moving your hand from keyboard to mouse.

Used it for 2-3 years before sensor started getting laggy and jumpy, and scroll wheel started catching. It's fine, and performed more than well enough for pretty heavy office work prior to this, but tech is definitely not the newest out there. The form factor really is the selling point, and I didn't mind the plastic so much since it was lighter than the MXs.

I'm a graphic designer too and please don't buy this. They have a lifespan of less than one year so much better to pick else than this overrated expensive mouse.

My Lift had been working pretty well and I really enjoy the shape and wrist movement! Recently, however, the right mouse button got a lot harder to press. I think this is a defect and reached out to Logitech. Since it's outside my 1 year, all they gave me was a 30% off coupon.

I have almost the same problem with my 1 year old Lift. The left mouse button got harder and harder to click, and now I often fail to click. I hope I get a replacement soon.

Not a graphic designer. Bought this mouse because I had problems with my wrist. It's actually so heavy and slow that it increased my wrist problems. Also mouse buttons didn't feel nice and I didn't like the fact that it runs with a AA battery.

Personal driver for office work. Pros: ergo, battery life. Cons: weight, dpi, poll rate. NOT for PRECISION.

I've been using the Logitech Lift since February and the thumb pain is gradually getting worse. I'm currently on the hunt for a new mouse.

I came from an Apple mouse that wreaked havoc on my fingers and wrist and this helped immensely for me. That said, the mouse is garbage and the click doesn't work after a year. I guess each is different, but I like the idea of switching between mice.

I got mine about three months ago and find it's getting more and more comfortable. I tend to use mine for graphic and video design and long weekend gaming sessions. Feeling substantially less strain.

I started using the Lift about a year ago and it's been good so far. I was eyeing the MX Master because all the features look so cool. But I appreciate the warning about long-term use!

I did eventually get more used to the Lift. I still use it today. Truthfully, I'm still not as quick and accurate with it as I was with a regular mouse, but it's noticeably better than when I first got it. I think your arm being tired more is reasonable — you're definitely moving your arm differently and using different muscles with the vertical mouse.

I bought a lefty Evoluent vertical mouse years ago for work — took about a month for me to get really used to it. For long workdays in front of the PC as an IT worker, I wouldn't use anything else.

I had both versions and the main difference for me was that the Lift for Business mouse glides a lot easier than the regular Lift mouse.

I've had this mouse for a few years and absolutely love it. It's highly customizable, with tons of functionality, and the hand positioning is quite comfortable. It was a little weird going from decades of normal mouse hand positioning to this style (almost like you're shaking hands) but I got used to it fairly quickly. I've had less hand/wrist issues since switching over.

I've been using it for 2 years now and have less pain in my right wrist. My fingers also don't lock up like they did with tiny mice in the past. 100% not a paid review.

I have always used vertical mice provided to me by companies I worked for. Now that I'm working from home I bought myself the Logi Vertical Lift and I'm getting on very well with it — comfortable, compact and customizable. The one-click switch functionality between connected devices is great.

I've used the Delux M618 Seeker as my primary home mouse for 3 or 4 years. It's generally great for a cheap vertical mouse used for regular computing — and honestly for gaming too, so long as I don't need to aim. Side buttons continue to feel great — my favourite implementation of any mouse, vertical or otherwise.

Nice mouse but I hate to be forced by Logitech to register and login to use the functionalities of a mouse.
