Summary

The Acer Predator X39 is a 39-inch OLED ultrawide that shares the same LG panel as the LG 39GS95QE-B, making it a value-driven alternative for gamers who want the OLED experience without the LG price tag. Sentiment across Reddit is largely positive, with owners praising the deep blacks, fast response time, and immersive 800R curve for gaming. The main draw is pricing β€” it has sold as low as $499-$599 in the US, often $400-$500 cheaper than the LG equivalent in other markets. It's best suited for pure gaming rather than productivity or content creation, and buyers upgrading from VA or IPS panels consistently describe it as a significant leap in visual quality.

Pros

  • Shares the same LG OLED panel as the 39GS95QE-B at a substantially lower price β€” often $400-$500 cheaper than the LG equivalent depending on region
  • 240Hz refresh rate with 0.01ms response time delivers noticeably smoother and more responsive gameplay compared to VA and IPS panels
  • 800R curve and 39-inch size hit a sweet spot for single-monitor gaming setups, particularly racing sims and immersive titles
  • Includes a 90W USB-C port, which the LG 39GS95QE-B lacks β€” useful for laptop users wanting a single-cable setup
  • Comes with a 3-year warranty (1+2), one year more than the LG equivalent, partially offsetting the lack of a burn-in warranty
  • Using DLDSR at 5K2K resolution improves image quality noticeably beyond the native 3440x1440, giving owners an easy path to sharper visuals

Cons

  • No burn-in warranty, unlike LG which covers it β€” a notable risk for users who run static content or work at a desk all day
  • 3440x1440 at 39 inches results in a lower PPI (~95) than the 34-inch models at the same resolution, which some users find affects text clarity and sharpness for productivity use
  • HDR implementation has reported issues β€” one user noted visible color blotching with HDR enabled, and Windows HDR compatibility problems are common to the format as a whole
  • User profile settings don't save properly when switching between HDR and custom presets β€” each switch requires manually importing settings again
  • OSD and feature set are more basic than the LG β€” no automatic pixel refresh cycle when powering off, and fewer multi-source display options
  • 800R curve is too aggressive for some users working on text-heavy tasks or those not sitting directly centered in front of the screen

Same Panel, Lower Price β€” But What Did Acer Cut?

The X39 runs the identical LG OLED panel, but skips the burn-in warranty, auto pixel cleaning, and RGB accents to hit a lower price point. For pure gamers, those cuts don't matter much. For everyone else, they're worth thinking about.

Reddit Owners Keep Coming Back With Good News

Multiple owners checked in months and over a year after purchase reporting zero issues and continued satisfaction. The durability track record on Reddit, while anecdotal, is consistently clean β€” no widespread defect reports like some competing models.

The PPI Debate Is More Bark Than Bite

Critics online warn about the lower pixel density at 39 inches, but owners who actually use the monitor push back hard. Most report the sharpness concern disappears at normal viewing distances, and DLDSR can fill the gap for those who want it sharper.

I've been rocking the LG for 8 months. Super beautiful monitor. I managed to get mine last fall for like $900 from another deal BBuy was running. Can't go wrong though - it's a top notch monitor!

Man the 3440x1440 39 inchers are such a missed opportunity. The 38s at 1600p were the optimal DPI, it's a bit sad there's no OLEDs that match that.

39" with an 800R curve? Sounds tight :) The specs on it look good. I've only had one Acer Predator (not ultrawide) and it was a great monitor.

From what I see it's the same panel as the 39 LG ultragear OLED. And if that's the case it's great, I own the LG 39 and I am thoroughly impressed.

I am 99% sure this is the same LG panel. If you plan to use arm - just brand preference. If you gonna use a stand - LG seems to be much more ergonomic

Too bad it has 800 curvature, that's too aggressive. I hope they have a 1800-2300 version optimized for content creators.

I love it. I can't comment pictures on this thread but it's just the same as other OLEDs, has great blacks and fast response time. No dead pixels or factory damages / blemishes on my unit. Moving from a 1800r to 800r only took a few hours to get used to. Using DLDSR is great for this monitor, 5K2K is way better than the native resolution. Here's what I hate, manual/user profile don't save your settings. I have to import my settings every time I switch from HDR to my personal.

Perfect man. I dont have to turn my head left or right much to see the full screen when i seat about half a metre away. The 49" is wider than the 39", but shorter in height than the 39".

People who say the PPI is bad either don't own the monitor or haven't seen one in person. Sure, it's a bit less sharp than a standard display, but honestly, it's barely noticeable. I have the monitor myself, so trust me on that.

Yep its still good. In my country it was about $500 cheaper compared to other brands like LG, so to me worth for more or less the same specs.

I've had the monitor for 3 months now and can only say: MEGA! I use it for iRacing. It's obviously great for any other game that supports widescreen too. Absolute buy recommendation from me!

I just got this one as well. It's my first OLED monitorβ€”the colors definitely feel better than my MSI VA panel. I wish I got it at your price; I paid $700.

34" 3440x1440 versus 39" 3440x1440 β€” bad ppi at the bigger size. I don't know why people get the 39", you should just go for 49" instead if you want a bigger ultrawide.

Not bad for Php 43K and looks amazing as well. Sigh I can't wait to upgrade to a big screen OLED.

It has pixel cleaning but it's not automatic like the LG. Compared to the LG UWs, it has the same panels afaik. So you're paying more for the features that LG has, like automatic pixel cleaning when you turn off, multiple display source simultaneously, and more ports. But if you don't care about those things, go for the Predator! One factor that made me choose Acer is their extended 1+2 year warranty β€” everything is covered.

If it's the size you really want, yes. For $100 more, you can have LG 34 inch with 2 years of warranty and burn-in covered but you should be unlikely to need it unless you use your monitor a lot.

All the brands are using the same panel. But the experience isn't the same because of choices of different scaler chips and software, some of the brands using the same panel are absolutely atrocious. The Asus PG39WCDM is notoriously bad with heavy posterization, banding, contrast issues, etc in HDR. I received one for free, and it's still the most disappointed I've ever been in a display.

I got this LG 39" and I LOVE it coming from a decent IPS 27" panel which I had no real complaints about. The OLED colors just pop, blacks are great, I simply love the monitor.

The curve on this monitor is pretty steep, so keep that in mind. You have to sit directly in front of it and several feet away for it to not distort the image with curving. So far I'm thoroughly impressed with the panel. It's the first time I'm actually considering using HDR all the time. Colors are still great with it on.

I regret buying an HDR monitor. Windows HDR is so badly hacked on top. It messes up screenshots and screen recordings, some games will mess up the colors on the desktop when you close them and you have to sleep/wake the PC to fix it, etc.

Yes, it's matte! And coming from a previous-gen matte display, it's a BIG step up! I can't even notice the matte finish anymore. When it comes to text quality, you'll definitely notice a tiny bit of blurriness out of the box. Again, just a BIT! People online are way OA about the lower PPI β€” it's not ikakamatay levels of bad. OLED's text fringing is noticeable, it adds a bit of blurriness, but it's fixable.

800R and 1440P at that size are definitely downers. Same issue that the 45" had. Glad the 5k2k exists now, but definitely pricy.

For my money, I'm considering the Predator. 800R is a bit too aggressive for me.

Down to $850.00 at CC. Very tempting. Was looking to replace my aging and scratched Acer pred 34 for my new sim rig. Originally interested in the LG 45" 1440p version, but the Acer at this price is compelling.

I have the LG 34gs95qeb and it has been an amazing monitor. Looks as good as an LG C series TV which is not a quality you get when you buy a Samsung QDOLED.

I also got a 39" on open box from Best Buy recently. Had no packaging and only came with the power cable but I turned it on in store and it only had 165hrs. Talked them into lowering it to the 'fair' condition price and got it for $550+tax

I just bought the LG 39 inch one from Costco for $799 for my racing sim build. It's been great so far. The Costco version also has built in speakers, if that matters to you.
