Summary

The Asus ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP is a 32-inch 4K WOLED gaming monitor that has earned strong approval across Reddit, particularly among users who game in bright rooms or split their time between work and gaming. The matte coating is a genuine selling point — it handles ambient light noticeably better than glossy alternatives without sacrificing too much image quality. Most owners describe it as one of the best monitors they've used, with the standout WOLED panel delivering excellent text clarity, no color fringing, and deep blacks that hold up well against traditional LCD panels. The consensus positions it as the top choice in the 4K 32-inch matte WOLED space, though it comes at a price premium over the LG equivalent and carries a few nagging technical quirks that some users encounter.

Pros

  • 4K WOLED panel delivers outstanding blacks and contrast with zero color fringing — a key advantage over QD-OLED rivals for productivity and text-heavy work
  • Dual-mode operation supports 4K @ 240Hz for demanding games and FHD @ 480Hz for competitive titles, offering genuine flexibility in a single display
  • Matte coating handles bright rooms and window glare effectively, praised by users who couldn't tolerate the mirror-like reflections of glossy OLED panels
  • USB-C with 90W power delivery and built-in KVM switch — a meaningful edge over the LG 32GS95UE which lacks USB-C and only does 65W on the Gigabyte equivalent
  • Excellent out-of-box accuracy with no mandatory calibration, plus flexible OSD that lets users permanently disable CPC (unlike LG's model which requires a service remote each time)
  • Consistently praised across productivity and gaming use cases — users running 40-50 hours/week for mixed workloads report no burn-in concerns after 6-12 months of use

Cons

  • DisplayPort 1.4 only — no DP 2.1 support is a real limitation and a recurring complaint; the Gigabyte FO32U2 Pro is the only 32-inch WOLED offering DP 2.1 at this class
  • FHD 480Hz mode looks noticeably blurry at 32 inches — multiple users say 1080p at this screen size is unpleasant for desktop use, limiting the dual-mode appeal to in-game use only
  • Intermittent black screen / signal drop issue reported by a subset of Nvidia GPU users — Asus forum responses have been unhelpful, though some users fixed it by repositioning the DP cable away from power cords
  • ELMB (backlight strobing) only functions up to 120Hz — doesn't work at 240Hz or 480Hz, reducing motion clarity benefits for users who rely on strobing for competitive play
  • Large stand footprint eats desk space; Asus's ROG desk mount kit or a third-party arm like Ergotron is effectively a recommended purchase on top of an already premium price
  • Tandem OLED monitors (e.g., LG 32GX870B) are expected in 2026 with significantly higher brightness, making this a tougher recommendation for buyers not in a hurry

The Matte OLED Monitor That Actually Works in a Bright Room

Unlike glossy OLED panels that turn into mirrors under ambient light, the PG32UCDP's matte coating earns consistent praise from users with windows near their desk. It's the main reason buyers pick this over the LG 32GS95UE despite paying more.

Great Monitor, Frustrating Port: The DP 1.4 Problem

The most common technical gripe on Reddit isn't burn-in or brightness — it's the lack of DisplayPort 2.1. At this price point, shipping with DP 1.4 while the Gigabyte FO32U2 Pro offers DP 2.1 is a hard pill to swallow for connectivity-conscious buyers.

Surprisingly Good for Productivity — If You Use Dark Mode

Multiple Reddit users running this monitor 40-50 hours a week for split work and gaming report no issues after 6-12 months. WOLED's lack of color fringing makes text sharper than QD-OLED, and owners running dark mode at 125% scaling say it holds up surprisingly well for an OLED.

ELMB not working above 120hz. Well shit nvm. Doesn't work above 120hz.

Dual mode as well. 4K 240hz. FHD 480hz.

In my experience Best Buy OB Excellent is practically new, includes all manuals, barely used if not at all. With that being said 740 is a very decent price and not much to gamble, inspect scratches carefully though WOLED is less likely than QD-OLED but just in case.

All the 4k 32" WOLED options are the same minus small features you may or may not want to pay for, and the design of the bezels/stand. The Asus model is good if you want USB-C functionality, where as the LG model is better if you want good built in speakers.

It still has dirty gray issues.. that is a no go for 99% of computer nerds that use dark mode! And the vrr flickering is still present that some get annoyed at. And it is only 240hz at 4k, 1080p at 32" looks horrendous.

I keep hoping for a monitor like this (OLED, 4K, high refresh rate) is going to come in under $1000. Looks like I'm still waiting to replace my 42 inch OLED tv which has been doing monitor duties because there is such a premium for 3X inch OLED monitors!

It's a 4K WOLED. Improved over 1440p WOLED both from increased density and the new RGWB subpixel stripe. Tim from Hardware/Monitors Unboxed says it's a good improvement over previous 1440p WOLEDs but still behind 4K QD-OLED in his opinion.

It's the best but also most expensive.

The only qdoled that supports dp2.1 is the gigabyte fo32u2 pro. It does have usb-c/dp/pd functionality but only maxes out at 65w where the asus can do up to 90w. The asus and the Alienware models both support Dolby Vision whereas the gigabyte does not.

I returned the glossy version and picked up the matte. The glossy version acts like a mirror. Any sort of ambient light is picked up by the monitor. Matte for the win!

Tim literally said there is no clear winner between qd-oled and woled now. If the text fringing is truly solved then I would pick the woled any day of the week.

In for 1.. figured it's worth a shot, and BestBuy's return policy should keep me safe if it doesn't work out. Hopefully the KVM features work out well as that was a major selling point for me.

I'm torn between this and the LG. On one hand, the ASUS is probably the objectively better monitor with the KVM and the USB-C + charging. On the other hand, I could use the speakers on the LG to keep my desk cleaner, and the monitor + the stand look 3x better than the ASUS imo.

I have this monitor, it's awesome. I'm not a guy who overthinks "burn in," etc. The colors are excellent, the features are excellent. I rarely use the 1080p mode, but you know, it's there.

Yes its very awesome... But Asus is not, very slow and shitty firmware support. So it has a few non critical bugs left. But I can highly recommend it.

I wish they would have invested their resources in better features or other more useful innovations instead of this terrible 480hz 1080p mode. It was a waste of resources imo because 1080p looks horrendous on 32" and someone who is a serious esports gamer plays on 24-27" anyways.

I own the PG32UDCP. It's a fantastic monitor, but not perfect. No display is. It just depends on what you are looking for in a display.

I hope everything is oki with the monitor? If so, this is a really good deal. 1600 hours is nothing.. I would consider that as almost "new".

That's a great deal. The previous owner pixel cleaned the panel frequently, so it's still in relatively great condition. Congrats!

ELMB not working at 480hz killed my hype for this monitor. Still looking better than the LG unless you run into a deal that puts the lg at around 1100usd.

I've had this monitor for 6 months now (~850 panel hours so far). I really like this monitor. I use it for work during the day and PC gaming at night, and it's outstanding in both scenarios. Having the 480hz/1080p mode is a nice to have if you like competitive shooter games, but even the normal 240hz will be enough for any other game. Only downside is no DP2.1.

Just purchased the PG32UCDP for the same reason as you: work 70% of the time, gaming 30%. I read people saying the matte finish is better for working long hours and for productivity over glossy. I can't wait to install it!

Its picture quality is wayyyy better in every aspect to my old 1440 27" gen 1 woled. The colors pop, even with a matte coating. It's a nice feature to have if you ever have a use for the 480hz mode, but seeing the desktop and windows 11 in this mode will make you sick.

I have it and its great. Sure a qd oled will be more saturated, but will look worse in bright rooms. So pick it up man

I have it, and it's great, but the 480 mode lowkey sucks (1080p with this big of a screen looks blurry as all hell). In hindsight, I would have went with the 1440p version.

It's a great monitor, yes. The highly respected review channel, Monitors Unboxed recommends the XG32UCWMG over all other gaming monitors and the PG32UCDP is basically just a matte version of that monitor.

I have this monitor for a few days now and intending to use it 95% for productivity, 5% gaming. I chose the WOLED PG32UCDP over the QD-OLED PG32UCDM model for better text clarity without color fringing. Running at 125% scaling in windows, the text clarity is great, even with cleartype on. I see no issues and this was my biggest concern.

I just installed mine. If I have problems I will absolutely return to post about them. Had my acer gaming monitor (32in 4k) for almost 7 years. This is STRIKINGLY sharper, clearer, brighter and the most notable is the BLACK... dang ... my desktop is always black, makes the icons pop, so imagine my surprise when I saw what black was supposed to actually look like. 5 stars so far and I haven't even tested all of it.

The Asus 32UCDP and The LG3295UE will beat hands down all QD OLEDs if you plan to use them also for working and gaming. The fringing on the QD OLED is the most annoying thing I ever saw. 32UCDP and LG32GS95UE also have something very hot: 1080p 480Hz.

OLED will offer noticeably better contrast in a dark room than your VA and significantly better motion clarity. If you take care of it (use dark mode, don't max out brightness for productivity apps, let it run compensation cycles, keep the various protection features on) then you should be fine with 50/50 productivity split.

I genuinely loved mine for the 4 months I had it (minus dp1.4.) One day I turned on my pc and had artifacts on the screen. After some troubleshooting, determined it was the panel failing. If not for wanting to move to dp2.1, I would have done another PG32UCDP.

It is nearly perfect. No light bleed, perfect picture from every angle. Only problem is that anytime you want to turn it off, exactly 5 mins later it sends a signal to windows to tell windows you unplugged something. You will hear a bloop sound the same as unplugging a USB device and this causes windows to freak out with your other displays.

QD-OLED is a no for me for the text fringing. I returned two QD-OLED monitors because of it. It is insanely noticeable to me. WOLED is the way to go, but others may not notice that text fringing.
