Summary

The KTC H24F8 is a budget 24-inch 1080p IPS gaming monitor running at 180Hz, and Reddit's general consensus is that it punches above its weight class for casual and budget-focused gamers. Most owners report minimal ghosting with overdrive set to Dynamic, decent colors for gaming purposes, and very low perceived input lag. The monitor has very little English-language coverage online, which makes Reddit one of the few places to find real user impressions. It's primarily recommended as a first monitor, second screen, or upgrade from older 60Hz panels — not as a serious enthusiast pick.

Pros

  • 180Hz refresh rate delivers noticeably fast and responsive gaming, with users reporting virtually no perceived input lag in fast-paced games like CS2
  • Ghosting is minimal when overdrive is set to Dynamic (or Advanced for G-Sync/FreeSync users), making it competitive for gaming at this price point
  • Colors are described as good for gaming out of the box, with one owner ranking it above the KOORUI in the same price tier
  • 400 nits peak brightness puts it above average for 1080p budget monitors, which typically top out around 250 nits
  • VESA mount compatible, which users strongly recommend given the weak stock stand — arm mounting unlocks full ergonomic flexibility
  • Regularly available under $100 with promo codes, making it one of the stronger value propositions in the budget 1080p gaming segment

Cons

  • Stand only supports tilt adjustment with no height or swivel — nearly every Reddit thread that mentions the stand recommends immediately replacing it with a VESA arm
  • 99% sRGB coverage is lower than the competing KTC H24T09P which hits 125% sRGB, a meaningful difference for anyone who cares about color volume
  • Very little English-language review coverage — no RTINGS profile, no major YouTube review — making it hard to verify advertised specs independently
  • Chinese brand with limited warranty support in some regions; at least one Reddit user warned that buying from an unknown brand means you're on your own if it arrives defective
  • Not available or shippable to certain US states (e.g. Minnesota) due to electronics recycling compliance issues affecting several Chinese monitor brands
  • HDR10 support is technically present but largely cosmetic on an IPS panel at this brightness level — real HDR performance is negligible

The Stand Is the Only Thing Reddit Hates About It

Almost every owner thread about the H24F8 ends with the same note: get a VESA arm. Tilt-only adjustment is the one consistent complaint in an otherwise positive reception, and several users say the monitor shines once it's off the stock stand.

One of the Few Budget Monitors Reddit Recommends Without Caveats

At under $100 with a coupon, the H24F8 keeps showing up in budget build threads as a solid pick. Users compare it favorably to the KOORUI and consider it a legitimate alternative to better-known brands — especially for a secondary monitor or first gaming setup.

Almost No English Reviews Exist — Reddit Is the Only Source

Buyers repeatedly mention that the only review they could find was in French or on Chinese forums. That hasn't stopped real owners from sharing positive experiences, but it does mean spec claims like the 3.33ms response time are hard to independently verify.

Lots of great budget monitors here, if you don't know KTC there are the most well established Chinese monitor brands in the US market, and they make great budget monitors.

Hard to beat these specs at this price. This deal comes around every month or so! I own this model and highly recommend it for 1080p gaming! If you're unfamiliar with KTC look them up they are an oem board manufacturer for other well known brands, and are very well established overseas.

I ended up grabbing the 27" 4k 60Hz for vertical monitor for media consumption for $143 with code. Seems good deal to me.

300hz monitor looks like a good deal, recent deals for it were $20 more.

Vertical for media? Is that for reels/TikTok?

Tilt but no vertical adjustment otherwise I'd be all in. Thanks for the share.

My wife just bought a pair of these but the 1440p version. I have a pair of 1440p 100hz models. KTC is great. Obviously you could get better monitors for more money but I really see nothing wrong with these unless you're a snob about it. Highly recommend this brand, they have great value for money.

Yeah that's its biggest downfall, limited movement. If you have a Vesa mount then it shines!

I don't know why you're getting downvoted. Nothing you said was wrong.

In the above 144hz threshold, I'll go with better color. Especially when that is a 25% sRGB difference.

Who knows man reddit is weird sometimes. I only posted these deals because I own a couple KTC monitors and if it wasn't for others recommending KTC on reddit I would of brushed them off as cheap chinese junk.. but I'm really glad I bought them and gave them a chance.

I have the 24" 1440p one. I have it mounted vertically and love it. There aren't many monitors with these specs so it's good that it's so cheap. Only downside is I don't think there's a power button so you have to trust it's going to turn off when there's no signal.

Wait why can't monitors be shipped to Minnesota? I was so confused as to why I couldn't buy one.

The first rule about Codes Club is that you do not talk about Codes Club. I got the code discount when I put my order in 4 hours ago for the 27e6.

Do yourself a favor and buy a VESA mounting arm for $40 on Amazon. You'll never worry about monitor stand quality again.

The colors are good for gaming (i'm not designer so i cant rate it but for me it's very nice), and ghosting is almost nonexistent. I plan to wait a few months and then review it. I would honestly recommend it today as one of the best on the cheap market. I even like it better than the KOORUI. You can find more detailed information about response times on Chinese forums (bilibili for ex.).

Usually the highest I have seen is 400 nits for 1080p gaming monitors. Maybe there's a few out there brighter, but 400 seems to be in general the top one. These here should all be 400 nits.

Actually just cancelled and swapped to the $99 27" 1440p. Kids will enjoy the bigger screen. They don't care about refresh rates and the higher res monitor will last longer than 1080p would for my needs.

In terms of gaming i must say the KTC thing is pretty damn fast, lag is virtually non existent, i was able to improve my KD ratio in CS2 and HLL. It has six different crosshair settings which is nice.

All monitors are calibratable, and you can adjust the RGB spectrum difference. You can search in the internet the same monitor and adjust it just as others have done. Of course it varies because not all the monitors are precalibrated equally. But you can improve it.

The 27" 1440p 100hz are on sale for $99.99. I think the 27 a much better deal unless 180hz is a must.

Idk why people put IPS and HDR in the same title lol. Yes I know it accepts an HDR signal but why even bother if it's an IPS?

If you're open to all sizes look up monitors made for video production. Typically high nits (1000+ is common some are 3000). Generally on desktop monitors high nits is for high end displays and high end displays typically want more than 1080p.

If anyone is interested in buying the h24f8 I would recommend it. using it right now. I would highly suggest getting a monitor arm with it as the original stand is pretty shit, its only got tilt adjust. the colors are decent and the ghosting is not noticeable if you the overdrive on dynamic (put it on advanced if using g-sync or free sync). No dead pixels out of the box but we will see over the long term. definitely a good pick up for a second monitor or if your on a budget.

I got 180hz and sold the other monitor, its pretty fast. I dont see any difference between these 2, only difference was the refresh rate to me. In this price range it was really good monitor.

The first one has better color accuracy (better quality), and the other one has lower latency (better gaming experience, but not amazing).

In my country (Argentina) in amazon they're at almost the same price, but in the H24F8 i have 25 dollar discount and free shipping, and on the H24T09P i have to pay almost 60 dollars on shipping, and the H24T09P has 165hz and the H24F8 has 180, so who is better??

I would get the ktc h24f8 if you're planning on upgrading in the future. If not I would get the ktc h24t09p or a different monitor altogether. Saying this is for gaming.

I hate that there are a handful of monitor brands that cannot be shipped to Minnesota. From my experience it seems to be an issue with Gigabyte, INNOCN, and KTC monitors for the most part.

I like to watch YouTube and Netflix while gaming or working on my main monitor. I usually split the screen and use YouTube in theater mode and run something else on top like discord.

If that $130 1440p 180hz monitor were 27" I'd be all over it. 300hz feels overkill to me.

Fíjate en una página llamada RTINGS, el modelo exacto, hacen buenas reviews más técnicas de monitores e incluyen información como el tiempo de respuesta verdadero del monitor, el ratio de contraste y otras cositas útiles.
