No Height Adjustment Is a Real Annoyance
Multiple Reddit users flagged the fixed stand as the one physical shortcoming worth knowing before buying. Budget a few extra dollars for a monitor arm if ergonomics matter to you.

The MSI G242L E14 is a budget-friendly 24-inch IPS gaming monitor aimed at entry-level gamers and anyone upgrading from older 60Hz or TN panel displays. Reddit sentiment is mostly positive for its price bracket, with users consistently praising how much you get under $100 — IPS panel, 144Hz, and 1ms MPRT in one package. The main criticism is that 1080p on a 24-inch screen in 2025 faces stiff competition from 1440p monitors creeping into the same price range, making it harder to justify unless budget is tight. Owners who've picked it up tend to report satisfaction with no major complaints beyond the lack of height adjustment and average color reproduction.

The G242L E14 makes sense when budget is the hard constraint, but Redditors consistently note that 1440p IPS monitors now occupy the same price range — making this a tougher sell than it was a year ago.
PS5 owners looking for a 120Hz-capable monitor at minimal cost are finding the G242L E14 meets all the requirements. It's a niche use case the monitor handles surprisingly well despite being PC-marketed.
Its good to see at least some things in life are getting cheaper
View Original CommentI'm all in favor of having 144hz under $100. Makes the entry point easier for people who haven't experienced high refresh rates.
View Original CommentNot just 144hz, but ips, and with a good adjustable stand. This should be an instant buy for anybody still running a 60hz 1080p, or a TN screen.
View Original CommentPerfect if you're a cave dweller like me
View Original CommentI don't need more monitors, but sales like this always tempt me with the idea of a wall of screens.
View Original CommentVery solid specs for a 1080p monitor. 144hz, IPS, and 1ms. Only downside is 250 nits brightness.
View Original CommentWild, 1080p 144hz is so cheap these days. And still a good experience.
View Original CommentNo height adjustment but otherwise its solid for the price
View Original CommentI can feel my hair turning white when I remember what my first 144hz monitor cost me in early 2012 compared to this price, it makes me realize the amount of time that has passed since then, and so dang fast.
View Original CommentOn one hand, I don't need another monitor. On the other hand, this isn't even $100...
View Original CommentKTC makes great monitors. They're the manufacturer for the OEM monitors of Samsung and ViewSonic.
View Original Commentall 1080p is worth now days. I got 23.8" Aopen 24MH2Y Pbipx 1080p 165Hz IPS for $59 with free shipping from Walmart.com back in June.
View Original CommentRAIDEALS is MSI's 100% owned self subsidiary, so a good seller since it is MSI itself even though not Walmart.
View Original Comment250 nits isnt even bad. Anything higher is bad for your eyes anyways, unless your in a super bright room
View Original CommentSo tempting for this reason, but I feel like I should just wait for a 1440p deal.
View Original CommentAmazing deal right here, gonna be a nice Christmas gift.
View Original CommentYes becuz of IPS panel and no because yours is 1440p and this one is 1080p. I'd just save up and get a 1440p ips 144hz monitor. They go for around $130 to $150 these days
View Original Comment27" will make 1080p look worse compared to a 24". 24" is the sweet spot for 1080p and 27" is the sweet spot for 1440p
View Original CommentIt's because people would rather get the 1440 monitors for the most part. Just got two 27" 1440p ips monitors for $130 each and they're great for the price.
View Original CommentInsane deal for all the budget gamers out there
View Original CommentIn for one to replace a 60hz secondary monitor. Thanks for posting!
View Original Commentbuying this + a monitor arm for my 12 year old nephew as a gift for christmas. for $75 i mean it's not too bad right?
View Original Commentyep. definitely recommend it. i'm using it right now while typing this. go for it you won't regret it.
View Original CommentGood for the price. I'm using one right now. Go for it.
View Original Comment3 of these for a racing sim? Kinda hard to say no
View Original CommentNo height adjustment but otherwise its solid for the price
View Original CommentThe only bad part about this monitor is the colour reproduction and bit rate. Everything else is fine if you're looking for a 1080p 144hz monitor.
View Original CommentImo it's a great monitor for the price. Meeting every requirement to run the ps5 pro to its full potential aside from resolution. I have 1 myself & can't complain.
View Original CommentI had a curved MSI Optix that was VA. Having an IPS version for $90 feels absurdly good.
View Original CommentJust got mine! You're right 1440p > 1080p. I'll keep it tho. Not bad for the price.
View Original Commentbased on the reviews of the newer panel, it loses the increased contrast ratio in favor of improved motion clarity
View Original Commenti think 241 would be better for me then, as I'm not into competitive gaming, just casual
View Original CommentHypothetically since it has Adaptive Sync it could work with G-Sync in compatibility mode. You have to manually enable it in Nvidia Control Panel. But there is no guarantee G-Sync will work 100%.
View Original CommentWhen looking for a solid monitor, make sure its GTG is 1ms. That will be the best option to start with. Colors can be fixed in AMD or NVIDIA settings, ghosting can not be fixed.
View Original Comment1080p is a much easier resolution for older GPU
View Original CommentI'm torn between that one and the Xiaomi A24i
View Original CommentFor known brands, go for $200 and above. Anything below, the chinese brands will offer much more
