Samsung C24F390 Curved Monitor: What Reddit Really Thinks

It shouldn't even be advertised as freesync. Range of 48-72hz that doesn't even extend to the upper and lower point without tearing. Severe flickering. This was with an RX 480 and a fury.

VA panels (and IPS, TFT, etc.) are all still LCDs. This is just LED backlit, which manufacturers have begun to use to describe the whole monitor, and imply that it's similar to OLED (it isn't).

Its pretty good. I might be biased though i got it for $57

Nothing significant, I think the immersion will be better for ultrawide or multi monitor but for single monitor actually I don't really feel any major difference compared to the flat screen.

I own the 24" version, the freesync range is 48-72Hz. The response time is enough for casual gaming unless your main games is competitive fps like cs:go, you'll want 144Hz with 1ms response time for that games.

Eh, curved at this size isn't that nice. I think I would like it on an ultrawide, but I have an C24F390 and I prefer flat at this size, personally. That wrap-around feel isn't really there.

The color is on par with IPS panel in general but VA panel have better contrast ratio, the problem that I heard for VA panel for gaming is motion blur when on a dark background but I don't find it very severe for CF390 type so maybe that only applies for older VA model.

Moved from TN to VA, holy shit, definitely a difference. IPS is better but VA is not too far off. My 2 cents.

If you want a great 1080p monitor don't hesitate. I have this monitor and it looks great (colors comparable to my slightly older IPS). Plus a curved screen at the 1080p sweet spot/maximum size and Freesync for that price is killer deal

I've got a C24FG70 which is also 24" curved. My opinion is that it doesn't matter either way. I thought I'd dislike the curve, but ultimately it's eh. Kind of forget it's there while using the monitor and it doesn't detract from the experience, but it doesn't improve the experience either.

I just bought the 24" version of this last week, And all in all it's a great monitor, even though advertised at max 60Hz, you could get 72Hz by simply changing the settings in windows display settings, so that was a nice little extra.

Its a great monitor but forget it if youre planning to use Freesync

Yes, that is overclocking. You may face issues such as random temporary black screens and artefacts. Also use https://testufo.com/frameskipping to make sure that the display can actually show 72Hz.

Great monitor. I remember going to the store and looking at about 10 different monitors side-by-side(granted, they probably aren't properly calibrated), but this one seemed to have the best picture out of the panels I checked out.

I don't really feel strongly about the curve either way. Doesn't really help or hurt the experience at all IMO. That said, I think a dual monitor display with curved screens would be pretty cool. A little more immersive than the typical setup for sure.

It's listed with a curvature of 1800R, which honestly doesn't mean much unless comparing with other monitors. I would call it 'noticeable.' But not too much. Sitting at normal distance at a desk, I'm really digging the viewing experience the curve adds, coming from a flat panel

nope :/ it's a crummy 60hz... up to ~74hz if you have free sync.

Curved at that size is not worth it.

my samsung 22 inch monitor is still going strong for 8 years and no issues whatsoever. for the curved monitor i don't think its good but its up to you. also it could possibly be overclocked to 75hz

The monitor supports 75mm x 75mm VESA mounting. Just look for a monitor mount that supports 75 x 75. Most of the ones you can find on like Amazon should do that.

It actually goes up to 72hz if you adjust the freesync engine in the settings.

i have the same monitor and i can't reach 77hz, i tried everyfing and nothing worked. ;-;

The advantages of the curve is more to do with sitting position and distance... the closer you are to the screen the less like the edges of the screen are drifting out of focus. At a further distance, specially with off center sitting, the screen arguably is easier to see compared to flat displays, specially if there is reflection/glare which on a flat screen will pretty much mirror that glare/reflection, where as on these curved displays, will GREATLY reduce it.

People might not realize it but I own a Samsung curved monitor with slow 144Hz SVA panel (LC27FG73) and used it for several years. Trust me, you do not want a monitor with slow Samsung SVA panel especially at 60Hz.

I think there are better monitors available for the same or lower price. I would check the KOORUI 24E3 first and see if it fits your budget range.
