Summary

The OPPO Find X9 Pro has generated strong enthusiasm across Reddit, with the vast majority of owners reporting zero regrets — especially those switching from Samsung Galaxy S-series devices. The phone's defining strengths are its class-leading 7500mAh battery, which regularly delivers two or more days on a charge, and a camera system built around a Hasselblad collaboration that impresses photographers and casual users alike. ColorOS 16 is widely praised as a mature, polished experience that competes seriously with OneUI. That said, a vocal minority points to inconsistencies in automatic photo processing — scenes that come out too dark or over-sharpened — and the speakers are broadly considered below par for the price. For US buyers specifically, cellular compatibility and the absence of mmWave 5G require careful consideration before importing.

Pros

  • 7500mAh battery is the best in class among flagships — users routinely report 2–3 days per charge and 12–16 hours of screen-on time with optimized settings
  • Hasselblad-tuned camera system earns consistent praise from photographers, with standout telephoto close-ups and an exceptional flashlight for low-light assists
  • ColorOS 16 is described by multiple ex-Samsung and ex-Pixel users as surprisingly refined — fluid animations, robust gesture support, and a feature set that rivals OneUI
  • Dimensity 9500 chipset delivers stable GPU performance and handles demanding games well, with reviewers noting competitive results against Snapdragon 8 Elite devices
  • Premium build quality and ergonomics draw universal praise — the in-hand feel, ultrasonic fingerprint reader accuracy, and Dolby Vision OLED display all exceed expectations
  • 5-year OS update commitment combined with hardware that users describe as future-proof for 4–6 years of ownership

Cons

  • Automatic photo mode is inconsistent — scenes can render too dark, over-exposed, or over-sharpened, and HDR performance lags behind iPhone 17 Pro Max and Pixel in point-and-shoot reliability
  • Speakers are mediocre for a €1,000+ flagship — loud but lacking depth, with third-party EQ apps like Wavelet or Echo Equalizer commonly recommended as workarounds
  • US buyers face real limitations: no mmWave 5G, missing several key LTE bands on Verizon, and 5G data speeds that are often 40–60% slower than comparable OnePlus or Samsung devices on T-Mobile
  • Software quirks persist on the global ROM — Bluetooth playback glitches, screen timeout bugs resetting to 15 seconds, Instagram formatting issues, and OTP notification behavior all reported
  • At €1,100–€1,300 depending on region, pricing is equivalent to iPhone 17 Pro Max, which some users find hard to justify given the camera consistency gap
  • Phone weighs 227g — heavier than advertised and noticeably top-heavy during extended one-handed use, a real complaint from users coming from lighter flagships

The Battery That Makes People Forget About Everything Else

Owners who came specifically for the 7500mAh battery tend to stay despite other frustrations. Multiple US users report keeping the phone purely because no other Android can match 2–3 days of real-world use — a tradeoff they're willing to accept even with slower cellular speeds.

Is This the Best Android Camera or Just the Best-Hyped One?

Reddit is split: professional photographers and enthusiasts love the Hasselblad collaboration and the results achievable in master mode, while everyday users find automatic mode less reliable than iPhone or Pixel. The camera shines when you know how to use it — which is either a pro or a con depending on who's asking.

Samsung Switchers Almost Never Look Back — iPhone Switchers Sometimes Do

The pattern across hundreds of comments is striking: virtually every ex-Samsung user reports zero regrets, praising the battery and camera as a step up. But some ex-iPhone users — particularly those who relied on consistent point-and-shoot results for social media — found themselves missing Apple's processing reliability and eventually switched back.

I was just taking a basic shot of my cat and was thinking, man I love my Oppo Find X9 Pro I have zero complaints about the phone and I used the 17 pro max and vivo x300 pro. My phone just had a huge update that made the camera experience even better. The battery life is phenomenal and I'm a gamer

I have zero issues with any apps opening, including Amazon. Every single app opens faster than my Pixel 9 Pro XL and Samsung Galaxy S24. I can also get 10+ hours easily on a single charge and go to bed nightly with 40% and 7 hours of SoT.

Pros: Bright high-res OLED display, Dolby Vision capable. Class-leading battery life inside a package that's no bigger than the competition. Good charging speed for the capacity. Mediatek SoC is powerful overall, the GPU is more stable than most. Thoroughly capable camera system, standout telephoto close-ups.

Basically just came out. Mine still feels brand new. Still 5 years of updates left.

I've had it for 3 days now, came from an S24 Ultra that had become buggy from software upgrades. I'm very happy so far. A few little annoyances with the software compared to OneUI, but overall I'm happy I made the switch. It's a very nice phone. I haven't tested enough yet but so far the cameras seem great. Battery life compared from my S24 has been a big difference.

It's way too expensive, 1200 euro? Get out of here.

That battery life is crazy, though Mediatek modems seem to drag it down somewhat for calls. Thankfully call time probably isn't something most people care about.

As a former Samsung Galaxy S series (including S25 Ultra) and Samsung Galaxy Note series owner, no regrets moving to Oppo Find X9 Pro.

Nope, best phone ever, and I change flagships every three months or so. No interest in the Samsung S26 Ultra now.

Yes it is worth it. Best battery life of any flagship. Best cameras after the Vivo X300 Pro. Extremely bright screen in the sun. Flat phone. Cheaper than the iPhone 17 Pro Max by a few hundred bucks. Only downside is mediocre speakers.

It is a well designed, great all-rounder but on some aspects very overhyped. The battery is good, but does not feel like a 7500mAh. Software had indeed some glitches. Camera is good, sometimes great. But most of the time very dull and it just doesn't bite me personally. Not getting the wow-factor.

I tried S25 Ultra, iPhone 16PM, but ended up using the FX9P. It's not perfect. There are no special mind-blowing features. It just boringly does everything good — a very balanced phone. Camera is great, not perfect, but one of the best. Battery life is just awesome. OS is great. Not flawless, there is still some room for improvement.

I honestly wouldn't buy it again. It's definitely an excellent all-around device, but for my tastes, the software isn't as refined and polished as Samsung's (or Pixel's). The notification management (especially on the lock screen) and a truly annoying Bluetooth playback bug — playback occasionally glitches, for example when you lock the screen or receive a notification. Not always, but sometimes it skips.

Today, a week after getting it, I regret it. I have an iPhone 15 Pro, and I feel the iPhone is superior in screen and sound. The Oppo's camera is incredibly unreliable. I'm not a photographer, and I don't pay attention to noise or any of those parameters that experts say matter, but even just taking a photo in automatic mode for social media, the iPhone still manages to produce a more pleasing result. Scenes on the Oppo seem too dark to me, and I struggle to get a sharp photo.

I regret buying it at full price — this phone is way cheaper used. I also regret buying it due to two things: it doesn't have the best camera especially on auto mode, sometimes it overexposes or underexposes, boosts the contrast and applies AI filters to faces. I was expecting more, especially with HDR. Speakers are bad — they are loud but annoying.

The extra weight is noticeable, but it doesn't affect the battery life in the short term. When you start holding the smartphone in one hand for longer periods of time, I notice the difference. I've used many devices over the years and now I understand the differences.

For the camera, the iPhone 17 Pro is the best, hands down. My second pick is the S25U, which is why I switched to Samsung. Oppo just overdoes it with the AI, and the pictures are either too bright or too dark. Not reliable at all. Battery-wise, Oppo wins, no contest.

I have been using a S25 Ultra for a year. I love OneUI but I know that either this year or the next I will be switching to Oppo. OS is good enough and the hardware is so far ahead of Samsung.

I like the phone. But honestly I expected a bit more from the battery life. Maybe it's because of dual SIM or my behavior, but the battery doesn't last that long. It's good no doubt, but I expected more. What I really dislike is that all third-party launchers are basically not usable because the home button leads to weird behavior. Also I don't get it why I can't disable AI enhancement in photos.

Disappointed in low light performance, OIS, HDR. I have better results from the 17 Pro Max in those areas, especially less motion blur.

My OnePlus 8 feels 90% as fast as my OnePlus 13, despite being from 2020 and the OnePlus 13 CPU being 270% better. We've reached a point where the processor doesn't matter so much so don't worry about it honestly.

I have the Oppo X9 Pro. The highs are amazing and the lows are garbage. I usually use master mode with Vivid filter and -0.3 exposure. I also find the video slightly inferior to both Samsung and iPhone. To be honest though it's the only phone on Android with both an excellent camera and battery — Samsung S25 Ultra hasn't got the battery.

Amazing pictures. I came from S23 Ultra, and Oppo Find X9 Pro defeats it fair and square in every department. One of the most important things that I care about is the capability of the hardware. And this phone is so loaded with the absolute best of everything that you can easily last 3-4 years.

Switched back from Samsung S24 to Oppo and it's been great as an overall package. Might not be the best at all things, but it's still bloody good at everything.

I went from S25 Ultra to X9 Pro a week ago and I can really feel the worse speaker quality and also I don't like the haptics, but other than these I love my Find X9 Pro.

Not really. The cameras are mid range due to the processing currently. When you take photos of people, Oppo adds this weird glow on the face which is quite visible and also results in hazy faces. The photo mode sharpens photos excessively to the point it looks like a crusty mess. Zoom beyond 15x looks like something drawn by a mentally challenged kid.

Coming from a Pixel 9 Pro, the camera is so good, but the battery is so bad. I was going to get S26 Ultra, but it's underwhelming and I can't justify the price for it. Definitely going to get this phone considering the camera and the battery life.

Honestly, I was quite skeptical. I bought one to try after falling down into the YouTube influencer rabbit hole. I am still using my S23U as my main for now but holy hell this phone so far is amazing. As a photographer who uses larger cameras and film all the time, I'm not bothered by the AI processing of the photos as I know the limitations of smartphone cameras. Tempted to switch it to my main.

Professional photographer here. Absolutely no regrets. Camera is great but what really sold me was the battery. I'm rocking 2-3 days on a charge which is just INSANE.

I came from the S24 Ultra and regret it. I found the S24U a fairly balanced phone. Camera was still competitive, but not mind blowing. My Oppo — I'm completely underwhelmed. I have constant issues with the screen timeout defaulting back to 15 seconds. I don't find the camera as great as people make out and there are bugs with WhatsApp Calls too.

I totally agree that iPhone point and shoot is much more consistent than the Find X9 Pro. I'm like someone who just takes photos expecting the phone to know how to make the image the best it can be — Apple and Google's software algorithm for automatic photo processing is superior.

Works perfectly with T-Mobile. Signal is surprisingly better than OnePlus 13. I always have the 5G on and the battery is very efficient. Mine lasts over 3 days with moderate usage and more than 12 hours of SoT. I don't regret having this phone.

A bit yes. Too many small bugs and battery charging speed. Compatibility issues — Instagram isn't properly formatted on my phone. Another issue is with Google Messages: OTP doesn't show to copy when it pops up. Also with YouTube, the video will once in a blue moon have a dark tint overlay and I have to restart the app.

All phones have ups and downs. Oppo first time using it — way less downs. Coming from S24 Ultra, OnePlus 13, Pixel 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 Pro to this. By far the best phone to me in every aspect IMO. Camera, battery, OS, smoothness — just amazing!

The camera is hands down the best camera I've personally used and it's the main reason to buy the phone. IMO it's better than anything iPhone 17 Pro Max produces and I like the colour reproduction and the Hasselblad collab better than the Zeiss one on Vivo X300 Pro.

I have the phone for about 2 weeks and my experience is pretty good so far. Battery lasts for 2 days of my usage (7-8 hours every day). Software: 10/10 — it's ColorOS, the best Android skin. No lag, no bugs, everything is buttery smooth.

I had S24 Ultra. No bug led me to change. It's just that Samsung started treating customers lightly — nothing new over many iterations of the phone. No novelty. Photos not great. I bought Oppo Find X9 Pro and have not regretted even once. The only thing I miss is the routines that were on Samsung. Nothing else. Not even the S-Pen. Go ahead, buy it. You will not regret.

Honestly after a few months of ownership, the camera is not what I wanted it to be. Too much swapping between photo and master modes to figure out which is best and then both end up pretty mid in a lot of situations. That being said, the battery life will keep me tethered to this phone until others catch up. I'm getting 2 days minimum out of this thing and don't want to go back.
