The vivo V70 is a mid-range phone that generates polarizing reactions on Reddit — strong praise for its cameras, display, and premium build, but sharp criticism for its pricing relative to competitors. Most users agree the main camera and selfie performance are genuinely impressive, and the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is a rare standout feature at this price tier. However, the consensus in Indian and global communities is that the phone is overpriced when the vivo X200T sits just above it offering significantly better value. OriginOS 6 is seen as a polished improvement, though some BBK software quirks remain. The V70 is best suited for users who prioritize camera quality and build over raw performance.
Redditors repeatedly called out the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor as a genuine differentiator — it's a premium feature that mid-range phones almost never include, and users noticed.
The dominant complaint across threads is simple: the V70 and V70 Elite are priced as if the X200T doesn't exist. With that phone available just slightly above, the V70's value proposition falls apart for anyone who does their homework.
Several reviewers praised the telephoto before GSMArena published unedited full-res samples. Reddit users pointed out that most early positive coverage relied on phone-screen previews and YouTube compression, which hid real weaknesses in detail rendering.
The V70 also pushes into premium territory with its ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, since this feature is still rare in the mid-range segment. That's the standout feature, in case you hate clickbait but wanted to know.
View Original CommentWow. I mean... wow. (Thanks for saving me clicking on the bait!) — referring to the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor being the standout feature.
View Original CommentV70 Elite is another stupid cash grab because 8s Gen 3 is a two year old chipset now, doesn't justify the price tag, it should be available in under 25K phones. V series is second worst from Vivo after Y, only T and X series are good.

View Original CommentTLDR: Pros — Premium new design with aluminum frame and IP68/IP69 rating. Excellent battery life. Bright, sharp AMOLED display. Very good main camera and outstanding selfies. OriginOS 6 finally goes global and feels polished. Stereo speakers, IR blaster, ultrasonic fingerprint reader. Cons — Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 isn't class-leading. Ultrawide camera is underwhelming. Telephoto detail rendering could be better. No HDR video or pro video features. No eSIM.
View Original CommentV70 & V70 Elite are both poorly priced. X200T sells locally for 53-54k, is a much better phone. Easily my top choice.
View Original CommentI saw the many different comments about the pricing but my needs are: 1. A phone that lasts the whole day without any issues with general use of maps, browsing, some YouTube, some social media etc. 2. When I need it, a camera that delivers above average quality. I think it is well covered with this phone. I ended up pre ordering it.
View Original CommentNo phone intentionally downgrades the camera for at least 4 years of release. Why would brands spoil their image like that? Some updates cause issues and later updates solve them. This is a constant process for all phones.
View Original CommentThe telephoto is a huge disappointment. Until GSMArena, all other reviews since the release were saying it's fantastic. Well they were 'lying' in the sense that they were all judging only from the phone's screen, or resized samples, and YouTube compression. Only GSMArena shows extensive unedited samples: the only way to be sure.
View Original CommentIt has a 2026 price. If you can buy with 2025 price, it's a much better deal. You'll be losing UFS 4, and getting IMX766 instead of the newer Lyt700, but nothing drastic.
View Original CommentIt has UFS 4.1 and few other changes but not much difference from V60 so a drastic difference in price between both doesn't justify.
View Original CommentDespite Snapdragon, software bugs hurt performance, plus the heating issue needs to be fixed.
View Original CommentFor your usage (Genshin, emulation, editing), Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in this phone might be the limiting factor. It can handle the tasks, but sustained GPU workloads often trigger thermal throttling, which leads to performance dips during longer sessions.
View Original CommentIf performance consistency matters, I'd be cautious with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 inside V70 Elite... it benchmarks well initially, but sustained gaming or editing workloads can expose thermal limits. For a 50k phone, I would expect stronger long-session stability.
View Original CommentIf you can, extend your budget just a bit and get an X200T/X300, they are just way better overall.
View Original CommentThere's a better phone for camera — Reno 15 Pro mini with 200MP main + 50MP UW + 50MP Telephoto + 50MP Front with continuous 4K60fps on all 4 cameras.
View Original CommentToo bad the BBK phones (Oppo, RealMe and Vivo) lack in customizations — themes, wallpapers, fonts and more importantly tones for calls, notifications, alarms etc. Almost everything has to be bought on their theme store and there are no options for tones.
